There is a black stock F31 right by me listed at a dealer for $32k and it's been sitting for a while. I'm in the market but can't justify spending more than my E90M for a little extra trunk space and half the engine.

Valve cover leaking on headers was the exact issue my car had when I got it. I recommend buying an OEM BMW VC. We have a few e9x cars, the valve cover we got from fcp (OE Spec but aftermarket) leaked immediately after install. We then put the $500 OEM BMW VC on with no issues thus far. My wagon was the first VC Change I did myself, we’ve now done 3 of them. I think we can swap them in about 3 hours total, which is good as I think of it as a 50k mile maintenance item at this point, LOL.
Good luck with the new car! Post pics. Side note, someone mentioned front control arms being a common issue? Can someone explain a bit more on that? |

However, when the current market supports low mileage late model F31 m-sports with CPO (if you can find them) in the high 30s to mid 40s stock, if someone wants to step into a fully dialed, mint example with CPO coverage and 16k of choice upgrades, asking is considerably less than you’d end up paying to build a similar car. The same argument could be make for my e90 I sold Q4 last year in the mid 40s, which is now coincidentally listed for 60k. Given, the F31 is not a rare stripper spec 6MT, but as NA no longer gets BMW wagons, low mileage prime examples are getting harder and harder to find - especially accident and rust free with CPO coverage. If only we could all go back to 2019 and stock up on cars/houses at pre-pandemic prices… |

So is it the same car? The market now compared to 2-3 years is ridiculous. If you are remotely interested in selling a car you'd be foolish not to consider selling now. IF this is the same car I posted it's simply a product of the market and if it sells (which it will in this spec and mileage), hey, well done with the extra cash. |

Same car - I have added the OEM 437M wheels, new PS4S tires, Apple CarPlay, OEM F80 paddles, window tint, OEM rubber mats all around, new rear springs to bring ride height up a bit so not tucked with 19’s…probably some
other stuff I am forgetting as well. I am probably one of the most anal-retentive car people out there, so I have also proactively replaced the cowl and a variety of other rubber and plastic pieces that were starting to break down from the CA sun. Paint has been painstakingly corrected to eliminate all swirling and sealed/waxed regularly per the Matt Moreman regiment…lol. My point is - car has been pampered and I have been about as detailed of a custodian for the past two years as one could be. Doubtful anyone in the market will find an example spec’d or cared for this well. |

Took a little longer than expected but the Deep Sea Blue on Oyster 2011 I talked about before is now ready to go. Did a handful of maintenance to get it ready for sale.

Haha, I can understand that. They deal with such rare, high end collector cars, that the every day stuff usually doesn't impress them. That being said, I stopped in there last summer while traveling through, and the guys were awesome. I arrived in my E91 (prior to N54/DCT conversion) and the guy checked it out and really liked it. They gave me a brief tour of their facilities, and drove me to one of their secret warehouses where I got to drool on a bunch of their cars... Wild stuff they have. Makes it hard to not be jealous... Someday maybe I'll get to buy from them!

I did an autotrader search for fun, e91 chassis rwd cars and I found 3 nationwide. Manual cars i found 1 nation wide. They don't pop up often, so patience is key in locating these cars! If you don't need the AWD I highly recommend the RWD for ride quality, handling characteristics and horsepower. That being said, X-drive can't be beat in a northern / winter climate! |
