Did some coding with NCS Expert. Very simple once you realize you're just downloading a file from the car, modifying the values in it and uploading it back on. I used a BimmerGeeks cable and a 6A charger as a precaution (but still only 12.2v with ignition on).

I did the following changes and listed the respective module and values:

1. Digital speedometer with true speed: KOMBI - BC_DIGITAL_V, V_DIGITAL_KORRECTOR
2. Auto eject key when turning engine off: CAS - KOMFORT_EJECT
3. Auto unlock doors when ejecting key: CAS - ER_KEYOUT_AUTOVR
4. Close windows w/ key remote: CAS - KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB
5. Disable seat belt chime: ABG - SBR_FAHRER_1, SBR_BEIFAHRER_2_CD
6. Complete wiper sweep after ignition off: JBBF - ZYCLUS_VOLLEND_KLR_AUS
7. Enable auto headlight sensitivity control in BC menu: KOMBI - LICHT_AUT_WERT_1, 2, 3

I didn't touch the FRM out of fear of bricking it!

Changed one of my friend's struts on his E90. Whew! What a learning experience! We're doing the other one tomorrow.

Not as straight forward as I thought, but now I've got the method down! We used this one-piece strut compressor. It worked very well.

Did brake job, front & back - Zimmerman cross drilled rotors, & Akebono pads.

Changed to valve cover gasket

Changed the motor mounts & trans mounts with 034 street version

Changed out the inlets to MMP 1.75" silicone.

I was able to take off the metal bracket, used to hold the oem inlet going to the rear turbo, located on the backside of the engine that so many people run into problems with and have to bend it out of the way. It's easy to get too with the valve cover off

The cats were a major issue getting off. They have never been off the car & the car is a Michigan car. Think rust belt. Torch nope, Kroil oil soaking for 24 hours nope. Torch glowing red hot & dousing the bolts with cold water / nope

Had to use a dremel for the bottom bolts and a sawzall with a Diablo carbon tipped metal blade to get the top bolts off. As well as dropping the entire exhaust down, in order to create room to get the sawzall in there. We sawed threw the middle of both ends (sawing through the gasket). I used a grinder that has a thick Dewalt SS brush wheel on it to clean up the gasket residue (rust & gasket) on both ends. I bought the BMS gasket kit for the cats upon reinstalling them. I had to heat up the left over bolts stuck in the cats to red hot, glowing temps and then pound them out with a punch and 8# mini sledge hammer. NOT FUN. Trust me I ENVY those who live in non-rust belt states. We have so much more to overcome in our area of the country in order to DIY.

No I don't have a tune, so I don't have catless
downpipes. I'd have to get new injectors and probably new turbos since both are original to the car . $3300.00 (turbos + injectors + catless downpipes) just to get a tune. No thanks. I guess my point is that that's why I just put the cats back on.

I did the motor mounts and the silicone inlets because it was a "while your in there" deal. You have to take out the cats in order to do both projects correctly. It took me and a buddy of mine about 36?hours to accomplish all of this in about 3 1/2 days.

Another "while you are in there" deal on project like this where you take the cats out is replacing the O2 sensors. If you're over 125k and are running on original O2 sensors, you should replace them proactively.

I will tell you the MMP inlets are very thick and stout. I don't know how anyone could get 2" inlets in there. It's extremely tight. I had a difficult time putting the oem fan back in. I have a 5" stepped FMIC. It is wider than the radiator. So, the fan has to be carefully wedged over the lip created by the wider FMIC. It also touches the front inlet that goes the to front turbo. I have an N54 without the oil cooler.

I used the following DIYs -

Inlets -

Valve cover gasket -

http://bd8ba3c866c8cbc330ab-7b26c6f3...eplacement.pdf

Motor mounts -

http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22841

No DIY for the brakes. That's any easy button.

Also, I did not follow the ecs tuning guide to the letter. I put Ultra Black gasket maker in the groove where the gasket goes, pressed the new OEM (no after mkt) gasket in the groove & then applied a thin coating of Ultra Black on top of the gasket. So, basically 2 layers of ultra black like a sandwich with the gasket in the middle.

So, the center console I got from the junk yard came with a plain rear vent cover. And since I'm going to loose the cigarette outlet when I switch the console out....still have a bit of sanding and painting to do....

Installed KW coilovers on an e92 335i, The guy loves the way it corners now. Then some BC coilovers on an e90 328i. not as happy with them. also did the oil pan gasket and trans drain filter and gasket on the 328i. I'm tired and ready for a drink.

They were to bouncy for him. I did all the adjusting of them on the firm settings I just liked the KW's better and easier to adjust.

The foam is so thin it wouldn't be noticeable if it did. I did it purely for aesthetic reasons.

Well, I guess it's officially Spring now that the winter mats are out. I still need to remove those nasty salt stains... Also wrapped the steering wheel trim in gloss black and installed the M Sport steering wheel. And most importantly: summer wheels are back on!!
