I dont know about where you live, but there is no dirt where I live, all paved roads! My engine compartment is as clean as the day I bought the car. And if it does get dusty, I was my car twice a week, I will just spray it off, I dont understand the big deal here.
No it doesnt, it is purely a personal preference! That is the glory of the car being mine, I can do as I please with it.
