A&L isn't but IND-distribution is...they are partnered

Always get everything in writing...when I bought mine part of the deal was to get the grill put to stock (was a shitty black paint job)...so he wrote that up and signed it and made copies etc...later discovered the car had no floormats so he just wrote that on after, but didn't make a new copy for the dealer...of course the SA gave me shit saying he thought I wrote it on after the fact since his copy only said kidney grills...

Is A&L a vendor here?
Yeah, but they go under IND on here. Nate and Ilia are on here often

how long ago did you buy the car? Maybe just threaten to return the vehicle?

Do you really need PDC? I have PDC, its my wife yelling at me that she can touch the objects cuz I'm too close.

This is the line I've been given "You would maintain your warranty as long as anything you install does not interference with the normal operations of the car."

My interpretation of that line is that everytime I bring the car in, they would make sure what ever that I've installed hasn't interfered or cause any issue. Hence my warranty coverage would be determined case by case vs being covered outright. I asked if my interpretation was correct and I was told yes over the phone.

I guess I would understand if I'm trying to install aftermarket parts, but since the beginning I've stresses repeatly to the dealership I'm only interested in retrofitting BMW parts which is why I'm confused why my warranty would be in question.

Just to clear a few things:

The car I bought is used. It's an 08 335i and it was missing heated seats and PDC. I asked to have to installed post purchase and insisted that I'm only interested in factory BMW retrofits. I'm not interested in retrofitting aftermarket parts. I was told yes, it could be done. Right after the purchase, I was told that I couldn't do any of those 2 without putting my warranty into question everytime I bring the car in for service.

The dealership is not willing to install the little bumper sensors (factory unit) PDC. I looked around and found this license place holder with PDC (PN: 66 21 0 395 009). Installing this particular license plate holder with PDC will not affect my warranty in any way. I got a quote of $425 labor for the installation and with the part it comes to about $550.
Im curious if the PDC unit works without having navigation, im wondering if they are confused with that, cause that might make some sense

I do wanna stress a few points before there are any misunderstanding for someone who read this without reading some of the earlier posts that lead to this discussion.

1- I do not think I've been bent over royally or in any fashion....well maybe a little.
2-Should my situation have been handled better? Definitely, I've been in the service industry for quite a while and a rule of thumb is to never tell your client that there is nothing I can do, you are SOL. Then let the client find a solution by themselves. I believe clients are for the most part reasonable and as a service provider of any kind, if you can't resolve the situation at least provide some options.
3-Get it in writing! no matter how small. Don't be shy
4-Their service and treatment has been above average so far so I do not think they are a bad dealer. I've been to worse.
5-I enjoy my car tremendously even while it was slipping in snow a few weeks back. I'm deliberating if I should get some Nokians now :P

The license plate holder PDC doesn't need iDrive. Just a beeping unit by the trunk.

Is it worth taking this window view in exchange to have my monitor facing the office and giving everyone a full view of what I am doing?
