I've had tinnitus since 1967, no thanks to the Army.

I have dual-tone tinnitus. Both ears have a constant high pitched hissing whine, like a high pressure steam leak. And my right ear also has a lower pitched ringing noise, like a refrigerator compressor. Been like that for about 25 years. Ambient noise makes it worse. The louder the ambient noise, the louder my tinnitus.

You know the name Tate-Labianca, and why Leslie is getting out.

When you forget to add coffee to the coffee maker and wake up to a pot of hot water.
And then trash your back just walking out into the garage. Now I have one or two unproductive days ahead of me. Argh.

I've made every possible mistake while making coffee. I buy whole roasted beans and grind them and put the coffee in a k-cup for my Keurig. Some of my favorite and often repeated mistakes are: 1) Forgetting to put the cup down so the newly made beautiful coffee just pours into the reservoir that was designed to hold a full cup of coffee for idiots like me. 2) I put the cup down but I forget to fill the k-cup so I make a cup of hot water. 3) I make the coffee fine but I forget to get it off the coffee maker and go sit down. By the time I remember, the coffee is cold and I get to start over. 4) I actually remember to bring my freshly made cup of coffee next to my favorite chair and sit down. But, something distracts me (could be anything) and the coffee sits there and gets cold beforeI remember to take a sip. 5) I use a 4-cup measuring cup to get water from the refrigerator water dispenser. For the sake of efficiency, I can actually fill the measuring cup while I quickly do something else (open the drapes, put a dish in the dishwasher, wipe down the counter, etc.) I hate waiting for the measuring cup to fill up, even though I'm retired and I have all the time in the world. My mistake is that sometimes I get distracted and forget that the water is filling into the big measuring cup and it overflows before remember to get back to it. Usually, I hear the water hitting the floor in front of the refrigerator so I can rush over and stop it before much damage is done. But, since I'm old and my hearing is getting worse each day, a couple of times I didn't hear the water overflowing and created a little flood in my kitchen. All of these thinks happen before my first cup of coffee. I try really hard to not make these mistakes but they seem to happen anyway. I just have to laugh at myself. |

Staying on the subject...
5A), Fill the hot tub and put the a final 15 minutes timer on my iPhone and take the Kubota out... Yeah, an hour later (good thing it was lunch time) there is water everywhere. 6) Put the Coffee cup in the microwave on high for 30 seconds to warm it up and leave it there for 15 minutes... So "6)" start again but that time I watch the cup spin until finished Last edited by JJ 911SC; 07-18-2023 at 08:27 PM.. |

I inadvertently did this by switching to a "man purse" a few years ago after the stuff I needed handy became too difficult to put in a wallet (hearing aid batteries). Prior to that time I had fairly regular bouts of my back going out. Since then, knock wood, I have not had back issues. I'll still carry a thin cardholder back there when I don't want/need the whole schmeer. Just not that big old slab of stuff. |

3, 4 and 6 happen to me. But after the first cup, I'm good to go. I wish.
