Driving all over Costa Rica. Some of the roads here are spectacular, and the Grand Vitara I got stuck with as a rental is pretty dreadful. Definitely missing my 3

Meant to post when I did these but not enough time in the day... so I bought an 06 325i six speed and after I drove it home ~100 miles the AC pulley sheared off in the driveway the next morning (I'll take that as a good sign lol). Needless to say that was a couple weeks ago and I ran it with a shorter belt until I was able to swap the compressor this past weekend, along with rear shocks and brakes (there went a whole weekend) + had to get the ac system vacuumed and filled at a shop. There's still a lot of general maintenance to be done before I get to the fun performance stuff >.<

I patched a band-aid on my BST connector to make the airbag light go off. Not recommended, but effective.

Akebono pads all around and fresh rotors. No more wandering and vibrations. 100 miles today traveling around and bedding them and all I can really say is that I HOPE they get better.

I just replaced mine a few weeks ago. They definitely do get better haha. I had the same thoughts for the first few days. Also, did you change your brake fluid? That helped make a huge difference for mine.

That is on the to do list next weekend. I'm waiting for the pump bottle and fluid to be delivered. The fluid doesn't look bad, but at 75,000 miles and 9 years, it's due.

Few small projects this weekend:
1- 35% tint all around. long overdue. 2- plasti-dipped msport rear diffuser black + glossifier. happy with the outcome. the finish is fine for something like a rear diffuser. actually a nice contrast to my black polished exhaust tips. 3- took some tips from the forum and had some fun with start button. bought the blue replacement button and sprayed the outer ring AW to match my car. |

I replaced the faulty DISA valves I received with my used 3IM manifold. Here are some comparison videos of the valves during the INPA test:
Large DISA - faulty motor, BMW (Mahle) 11617560537: Large DISA - brand new, BMW (Mahle) 11617579114: Small DISA - faulty motor (code 2AAC), BMW (Mahle) 11617560538: Small DISA - brand new, BMW (Mahle) 11617560538: Much better performance with the new DISA valves! Power delivery is buttery smooth and consistent throughout the entire power band. I've also started breaking traction under acceleration more often. I have the BimmerLabs 330i software for reference. |
