I should never have "dropped by" the camera store the same day my tax refund came back

Nice, Ed. I keep thinking about it. But I've seen too many folks buy them and then turn around and sell them after a few months. It's got me thinking twice. That's why I went with the SL1. Not much larger and no need to invest in a new line of lenses. Still, that EVF in the X-T1 with the split view and zoom to focus is intriguing.

I went back and forth in my head many times. I had the Sony A7II and the Fuji next to each other on the counter for about an hour. Logically, the Sony is the better camera with more DR and a larger sensor, but the Fuji just looks better, handles better, and the EVF in my opinion is nicer. It is a nice little package, that is replacing my NEX 6 that I will be selling. I don't plan to go nuts in the lens department. The kit lens, another zoom and a prime is about all I envision, and I hope to get all of those used.

Looks great. Did you shoot Raw, or in-camera jpeg?

That's a RAW, but I haven't really delved into any of the in camera settings yet. I've got a faster prime on the way soon.

It's showing lots of dynamic range and great colors.

I can see where California winters wouldn't be hard to bear. I take it that's a one-way road?

Other than the fact we are as dry as a bone, the weather is quite easy to bear, but I fear another really bad fire season.

Yes, it's a one way road just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Many years ago it was part of an Army base.

I just realized that I posted the unretouched version by accident; meant to straighten out the horizon and remove the shadow of the chair (with f/3.2 @ 15s I needed SOMETHING to steady the camera since I was too lazy to go back to my car to get my tripod )
