Quick question for you catless guys:

Are you noticing that the car is spitting flames out of the exhaust on the overrun when ran hard? I'm going to be tracking my car this weekend and just want to be sure I implement the necessary safety measures in case the exhaust decides to shoot flames and catch my bumper on fire.

It's be stated multiple times the oil needs to be at least 160*F to burble.

That's good info, I've followed the thread from the beginning and didn't know that. I must have missed the multiple times it was mentioned...

Between here and n54tech I've read that at least 4 or 5 times.

So today on my 30 min drive in slower traffic I noticed my oil temp was higher than usual too. I remember someone saying they noticed the same thing earlier. Then again, it could also be because it's a bit warmer out..

Well some on here don't also go to N54 tech. It's certainly not in this thread (I looked) anyways, thank you for the info.

Mine was running between 240 and 253 on my last weekends trip (spirited canyon driving included) which is hotter than I'd like but I have never monitored it before adding the burble option. I will do that exact drive again next weekend and I'll turn off the burbles to compare.

It's not stated explicitly like "OIL TEMP MUST WARM FOR EXHAUST TO BURBLE"

I just saw a few posts and it's clear that if
you can read a bit between the lines, it's clearly required for the car to be up to temp.

Yes, with an aggressive adjustment, driving hard, and rpm in the right range, you will likely shoot some flame.

Here is another video from tonight after some adjustments in regards to posts in this thread about run time, more aggressive at higher rpm, etc. The result: Driving hard (ie, aggressive downshifting/engine braking, on and off the throttle similar to some track usage) the pops/cracks/burbles are much more prominent. However, lighter highway/city driving is not nearly as noticeable. Additionally, you can effectively pull in to a neighborhood without anyone noticing anything other than your exhaust as you currently have it set up.

I've tried to demonstrate all of those scenarios in the video.

Please note: I have catless DP, resonators and bmwpe. It is very loud as is without going straight pipe. Just keep that in mind for how yours may sound/behave. You may not see any sparks/flame, especially catted, but mine definitely shoots flame when driving aggressive and I'm in/out of the throttle.
