You could pay a shop to swap the transmission and be ahead on that one.
Haha. Nah. I've got an m3 for the days I'm yearning for a MT so I'm not in a rush to find the right car. There was also a black on black 6MT. Xdrive LCI wagon at darcars dodge locally. 80k they were asking 13, by the time I got off work it was sold.

I prefer a RWD 6MT LCI car without eBay mods.

Have manual E91s reached their limit? On the car club website this SEDAN was just listed. https://www.bmwcca.org/ads/164426

Such a nice car: Asking $13. A wagon would be $20.

Just checked again. It sold. But there is another one, older, fewer miles, but still a great deal. One owner from FL.

EAG strikes again. This is the one the dealer sold out from under me back on page 25. They said a guy walked in and bought it proving what liars they are.

I KNEW IT! As soon as that ad hit on Saturday morning, I knew EAG would be wiring money to your dealer asap. The price was really good too; I'm guessing EAG will add at least $10,000 to it if not more. Wait, this is that other one, not the one local to you. I can't keep these straight. Nonetheless, expect a $10k+ add by EAG.

Oh yeah, here's the original ad: http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...&ct=clnk&gl=us

So EAG likely offered something between $18-20k against their asking price of $20,956.

Just from looking at the engine and brake caliper pictures, it's clear this car was bought and used "up north". Note the corrosion on the aluminum parts of the engine, rust on the edges of nuts on strut tower, rust on brake calipers. No thanks EAG. In order to get your monster premium pricing, you need to source pristine products. Wait, that's just me. The rest of the world is nuts crazy.

Actually this is a different car than the Minnesota one from that Saturday you emailed me the link (different blues I think and this one is oyster vs the Minnesota one was tan interior).

This one was several weeks ago on the east coast and the dealer promised to call me back to take a deposit on it. Hours passed and when I called back they had sold it to "someone who had walked in that morning" which I know was a lie now.

Edit: read your second post, yeah I guess that is a bit of consolation but I really liked the blue over oyster with sport package!

I hope they sit on those cars and dont move them.

It would be different if they put some serious time/$ into reconditioning them, but not the case here.

Just curious why you guys are so obsessed with Manual Wagon?

I've been driving all manual my life too. I am looking for a wagon for its outdoorsy/sporty look even though I don't need extra space. I am looking to get just Auto since I will be driving in LA.

I test drove 328xi wagon and def felt transmission lag but I guess it's a trade off for comfort driving in traffic. You can leave right arm on arm rest while enjoying sun coming through the panoramic roof It sits little higher than sedan/coupe. Those gaps might look ugly but it will come handy when you drive around fucked up roads.

I just wish they had DSG. I have Audi tt manual and though Auto TT was a joke (for girls only) I changed my mind after driving DSG.

Btw, anyone had Audi A4 Avant? I was originally looking for Avant B8 but steered away after hearing possible engine failure issues WTF (chain guard or tensioner can fail)

Lol. Agreed, but all of those bits were an extra cost when new.

Well, with my pre-LCI 2007 wagon slushbox, the transmission is BY FAR the worst part of the car. The later models are much improved I would imagine. This thing makes it impossible to drive the car smoothly, and my wife especially hates it and wants me to manual swap the car.

I want to get Another wagon but it has a f-ing Beige interior too (it's an epidemic problem when trying to buy used 3 series. you will run into those a lot)

I almost thought about getting this high mileage 2007 328i wagon for cheap and swap the interior out.

If anyone wants 2007 328i wagon with 180k miles for $3500 (might be good option for tranny swap?), let me know.
(yes it will have beautiful Beige interior lol)

BTW, Can you swap the interior with Sedan? Door panels and front seats should be the same? I am sure rear seats won't work.

Yea, I hated the auto in my old automatic E91. One area where the F31 kicks the ass of the E91 is in the trans, the ZF 8-speed is an awesome gearbox. My previous automatic E91 had this aggravating jerk on throttle tip-in, and the gearbox was never in the right gear when I wanted to accelerate hard out of a turn. I didn't have paddles though.

The funny thing is that the transmission itself is not bad, its the programming. My dad had a 2012 V6 Camaro with the same trans (6L50 instead of 6L45, but same basic trans) and it was smooth as butter, a great transmission. Its just in how BMW programmed it, which is weird because they did a great job on the E46, E39 and F3x cars. I guess everyone can mistakes though.

The front stuff all swaps over, as do all of the door panels and the carpet. The bottoms of the backseat also swap. The bolsters do not, and the back seats themselves do not either, though if you were swapping to something like black from beige, I don't think it would be too hard to dye the leather to match.
