Also that "software help yourself" is absolute gold! thanks!
You need ICOM. I just went through the same thing going to C1A. I used a $200 aliexpress clone. It was junk and I had to remove it from the case and put a fan blowing directly on it. Otherwise, it locked up after a few minutes of use. But it got the job done. I also had a big 12volt power supply to keep everything at the correct voltage.

Instructions below. These assume you have a working copy of Winkfp with the latest daten files.

Update Order
63,62,A0

Option 1
0 - Move Car Key to position 2
1 - Connect ICOM B (MOST) to any available MOST (fiber optic) Connector. Connect the USB cable between it and the ICOM module.
2 - Connect OBD connector to ICOM Module.
3 - Connect ICOM to Laptop via Ethernet cable.
4 - Start up Itool Radar and Reserve the ICOM slot. (You'll need to search for ITool Radar).
5 - I usually use the EasyConnect after ITOOL to select the MOST bus ASYNC setting and LOCK Icom.
6 - Start up WINKFP and select comfort mode
7 - Select Update ZUSB
8 - From the list, select CI63F1 first and click OK.
9 - Enter VIN
10 - Click DONE.
11 - In Next window, Click PROG-ZUSB.
12 - Blue bar will start - This step will take about 35-40 minutes. CIC screen will turn black and cic fan will be blowing at full speed.
13 -Select Update ZUSB again
14 - From the list, select CI62F1 and click OK.
15- Enter VIN
16 - Click DONE.
17 - In Next window, Click PROG-ZUSB.
18 - This step takes about 7-10 minutes.
19 - Lastly Select Update ZUSB again
20 - From the list, select CIA0F1 and click OK.
21 - Enter VIN
22 - Click DONE.
23 - In Next window, Click PROG-ZUSB.
24 - Screen might come up with BMW symbol and bootloader mode.
25 - This step takes about 45 minutes
And code default cic

I've been debating an ICOM. But its a decent chunk of $$ for a clone that may or may not work. Genuine ones are way out of the price range too. Any tips on buying one?

I got mine from aliexpress. I think most of them are the same. The Next ones in the silver box are the same board as the ones in the box with the orange label. You don't need Next for E series anyway. They have a high failure rate so don't be surprised if your first one has issues. Especially for the fiber interface. Once you are done, it should be easy to sell and get a lot of your money back. Especially for a known working set.

If you need a power supply to keep the car at 13.5V you can build one. https://www.***********.com/showthre...y-for-Flashing

Hoping you can help me. I've tried to get the 1b hex file off my car on 2 different USB sticks by following the instructions of waiting for nav system to boot up. Place usb stick (with the 1b.zip files extracted on to a fat32 USB stick) in to usb slot for 30 seconds remove and check on laptop. No joy.
Last digits on vin number are a477815. Attached image of version.
Can I use premium maps or have they got to be motion?
Any ideas on how to get the fsc?
Any help will be massively appreciated.

The script does not work for Motion systems.

Nor can you use the CIC premium maps on Motion units.

Question about updating

hello

i downloaded a 2020 nav update for my BMW with CCC. The download has 5 different .rar files. How do I go about putting them on my USB? Do I unpack and put the 5 folders on the USB or do I combine them somehow?

thanks

Unpack the first file into a folder.

That will also get all off the others.

Then copy the entire contents of the folder onto the usb stick including the sub folders.

Remember just the contents.

I end up with 5 separate folders on my USB, the first one has sub file "config.nfm" and sub folder "pkgdb", folders 2-5 have only sub folder "pkgdb".

Does that sound right?

The config file should be on the root of the USB drive with the other folders immediately under it.

There is a screenshot of the folder structure here.

2013 f10 535iXdrive. Ran esys and generated *******.FCS file. the file size is 1k.

Ran the generator program. never updated navigation, but I go a hold of the Next2021-1 update.

Which map do I select? 2013, or the one I am updating to - 2021?

I generated several different variations...Next, Premium, 2013, 2020...There is not 2021 map version. Is that the problem?

I think I did this right. Let me know if the FSC you make works. Add the following code to the lookup.xml

<SgbmId id="NAVD_000014B8_255_005_194" SWID_FscShort="00A8004D" name="Road Map NORTH AMERICA Next 2021-1" supplier="NTQ" sop="08.03.2020" version="10_09" MapOrderNumberBMW="" MapOrderNumberMINI="" MapOrderNumberRR="" successorMapOrderNumberBMW="" successorMapOrderNumberMINI="" successorMapOrderNumberRR="" NextNo="01473">
<EcuVariant CompatibilityIdentifier="NBT-HB" Format="CIC" />
<SwUpdate SwUpdateEntry=""/>

You select the map you are updating to.

As 2021 is not included yet, you can try the suggestion by smass above.
Alternatively, you can try selecting NEXT 2020-1 and TICKING the [ ] Lifetime box to generate a lifetime code.

The following is by far the easiest and most convenient way to pull your 1b file from your car and generate an FSC update code for your BMW CIC navigation unit (at least for me) and I haven't come across any other method that is easier.

Tools required:

-one usb stick.
- 1b.zip: Attached below.
- “bmw_cic_fsc_generator.zip“: Download Windows version from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lW0...ew?usp=sharing or directly from Jaeger's thread http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1453464
- Maps.zip: Attached below.

“1b.zip” contains the files necessary to pull the 1b file from your car via USB, “bmw_cic_fsc_generator.zip“ contains the FSC generator (a big thanks to user Jaeger and I hope he doesn't mind me using his generator as my preferred choice for generating fsc codes) and “MAPS.zip“ contains different map versions covering the most popular regions (North America, Europe and OZ/New Zealand).

First step: Pull 1b file from your car via usb stick.

1. Unpack the ZIP file (1b.zip) to the root of an empty USB stick
2. Power on your car (ignition on is fine, you don't need to start your car) and wait until the navigation system has started completely
3. Put the USB stick in the USB port in the glove box (do not use the usb port found in the middle console).
4. Wait for around 30 seconds
5. Remove the USB stick from the port in the glove box and put it in your (windows) computer
6. Check if the file 1b.hex is present on the USB stick (if not go to step 2 and try another USB stick). The file should be exactly 319 bytes in size and you can check your file by opening it with a hex editor such as HxD https://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/

Second step: Generate your FSC code using Jaeger's FSC generator

1. Unpack the ZIP file (bmw_cic_fsc_generator.zip) in Windows/Mac (after unpacking wait for a couple of seconds for the generator to automatically download the file Lookup.xml")
2. Open the FSC generator by clicking on "BMW_CIC_FSC_Generator.exe" and select the 1b file you pulled from your car as described above.
3. Select desired map type, region and version to generate your code.

Last step: Download desired map version and install on USB stick:

1. Unpack the ZIP file (MAPS.zip) and click on your desired map version (make sure you have a bit torrent client installed) to download it.
2. Put the downloaded map on an empty USB stick (just make sure it has been formatted using fat32).

Plug the usb stick containing your downloaded map version in the glove box of your car and switch your ignition on. After a couple of minutes your CIC will prompt you to update your map version. Just enter your generated code and the update will commence automatically.
That's it, you're done and good to go!

Big thanks again to Jaeger for his excellent fsc code generator http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1453464.

Update: Maps.zip now contains a direct torrent download link for north america premium 2018-1 which supports both updating via dvd or alternatively via usb stick.
I'm struggling to get 1b file. Some people mentioned bat file which needs to be on usb as well ? Also I used 2gb usb stick, people say that 1gb usb needs to be used ?

Thank you

The batch file and script are in the 1b.zip file that you must download.

Once you download that file from the internet you place the contents of the zip file into a fat formatted usb stick and plug that into your car's glove box USB port.

After a few minutes you will get the 1b hex file added on the stick.

With that file you can use the generator.

What is not clear is that there is a 1b.zip file you must download from the links, that you use for the car, and the car then produces a "1b" file from that.

The 1b.bat file and the FSC generator executable for the command line are available here.

Search for fscgenerator.exe to find it.

The first post in this thread has the zip file with the USB script to download the file directly from your car.

If that does not work for you, you will need to use an Ethernet (enet) cable and setup to grab the general persistence file and manually convert that into the 1b.hex file.

FSC code not working - help needed

I have a scripted CIC and trying to update the map to premium Europe West 2020-2.
1B file is pulled with USB and comes out fine. FSC map code is generated with
BMW CIC/NBT Keygen v1.91

FStool CHECK FSC works fine and I-drive asks for activation code after inserting the USB in glovebox.
I get error that "The entered activation code is in correct". Same with lifetime codes and I even tried with older map versions - no activation codes are accepted.

I was able to update the map few years ago to 2016-2. I compared the 1b_2016 and 1b_2020 files and they are indentical.

2016 EU_premium_west code that worked 2016 is also attached.

2016 and 2020 1B files attached.

Please help

1B files:
1B_2016
1B_2020

MAP Codes:
2016-2 ACFY4756NJUJSABIAAEA
2020-2 LWV77VZMMRM3CABIABFA

The Map code you attached for 2020-2 (map_code_2020_2.JPG) shows the code for 2018-1. It's also using an old version of the FSC Generator (v1.01).

Using FSC Generator v1.91 and your 1B.hex file, I get the following codes for Europe West Premium 2020-2:
LWV77VZMMRM3CABIABFA
WT6R7NAGIR2OWABIAD7Q (Lifetime)
Did you get the same codes above?

Also, when I generate a code for Europe West Premium 2016-2, I get U54B6C4MHDVQGABIAATQ, which is different to your attached FSCcode2016.txt code of ACFY4756NJUJSABIAAEA

Has your CIC unit been replaced since 2016?

Thanks for reply. I accidently uploaded wrong pics in the thread but yes I have the same map codes as you provided.
The CIC unit has not been replaced since. Could be issue with scripted unit and maybe reloading fake FSC could fix it.

This does not work with a scripted CIC.

You would need to restore the CIC to the original pre script activation then you could run the file to pull the 1b.

Otherwise you will have to use the same mechanism you used originally to script it again for the new map.

Thank you Opjose

What do you mean, what are the steps here to update the map?
