Gave the car an almighty going over the other day. Nigh on 6 hours with various products...

Pressure wash
Snow foam
2 bucket wash
Pressure wash and dry
Clay bar and buff
Polish and buff
Wax and buff!

That was the first time I've ever clay barred or waxed a car, and only the second time I've polished one. Talk about arm ache! At long last the 'Sparkling' is back in 'Sparkling Graphite Grey' though.

Put in a new vanos solenoid and it runs better than ever. I also debadged it while I was out there.

I think it looks much better, the rear is cleaner looking. I felt with the BMW Performance Aero diffuser's design elements it looks a bit busy back there with the stock badging.

- EZ Creme glaze, by hand
- Two layers of JetSeal, by hand

I'm very happy with the results. There are deeper scratches that need to be removed with a much heavier cutting pad, but I need to really dedicate a good 2-3 days to something that detailed. It sure is a lot of work, and a lot of careful cleaning. I can see why detailers charge so much.

What's your opinion on chemical guys stuff? Have never used jet seal before how do you like it? I plan to ceramic coat mine at some point, just have some other work to do first.

I've gone tried lots of companies: Meguiar's, Eagle One, Turtle Wax, NuFinish, etc. When I gave CG a try, I was hooked. I really, really like their stuff (with the exception of their AIO leather cleaner. Really not impressed). JetSeal lasts me 8-12 months without an issue.

They like to use a lot of cringeworthy marketing terms, but the quality of their product backs it up. It's well priced for how much product you get as well.

My only experience with their products are the v-series polishing compounds v-28-36 and the butter wax. My only complaints to the polishing compound series was the amount of residual dust everywhere after using. Lost of compressed air and brushing in seams after to remove it all, to me it just seemed very excessive. Their butter wax I was really impressed with, it looked great but only for a few days after. I will say that I really like their hex-patterned DA pads. I really want to explore more of their product line but still kinda iffy on it. I've been looking at Adams products but having purchased anything as of yet.

Adjusting the air flow on the left (driver side) air vent today, the finger grab piece came off in my hand. Disassembled the vent unit and found that the grab piece wraps around the horizontal louver, connects to piece with a slotted arm that controls the vertical louvers. Where this arm clips into the back of the grab piece it had broken at one of the clip points. Had to use a dab of super glue to hold it together (careful - this piece has to slide side-to-side on the horizontal louver so just a tiny bit right where the clip was broken), cleaned thoroughly, and reassembled. Gonna need those air vents in tip-top shape with the hot weather coming!

Nice work. Personally, I like the 3m perfect it series. There are 3 polishes in this kit. I use the chemical guys pads. My last step it to apply Blackfire Hybrid wax-sealant.

I've used the 3M stuff before. It was pricey but it did an amazing job. I'll go back to them in the event that I do another restore job. I'll check out the black ice. Instantly has made me think of Goodie Mob, I'll have Cee-Lo singing "Sky High" in the back of my head for the rest of the day now.

It wasn't just today (about a week ago) but I finished up my clutch replacement job. 132,500 miles at the turn. Doing it without a lift was…rewarding but at times it was not much fun…

LUK 335is/550 clutch kit (throw-out bearing, clutch fork, pressure plate, disk, etc.)
Brass Clutch Fork Pivot Pin
LUK DM Flywheel
New Flex Disk
New Driveshaft Center Mount
New Throw-out bearing guide bushing
New Pilot Bearing (my goodness what a pain...)
Rogue Engineering Transmission Mounts

and flushed the transmission just because it was easy.

My pride and joy rewarded me by revealing a left front strut that is leaking heavily. So, I guess it's time an upgrade there too...

Got new side mirror caps and had them painted gloss black to match the OEM shadowline trim. Subtle change but it looks sooooo much sportier!

Replaced the blower motor. Tokk about 20 minutes and didn't have to remove the glove box. Pleasantly surprised that the blower wiring looks completely fine.

Having a front lip put on to test it out. Not exactly sure how it'll go over since my ride's at a lower stance. Nothing extreme, but still a little apprehensive about it as I have no idea how much space I'll lose off the front end. Thinking I'll have to make minor adjustments with the suspension, but wonder if a 1/2 - 3/4" rise will make any kind of real difference and how it'll alter the look of my car. Got my fingers crossed though, hope it all works out. Changed my damn headlamp bulbs too, what a bitch! Definitely not a favorite chore.
