or from your friend, cab driver, guy at the bar, or even a "financial advisor"

does the advisor make a commission if you buy whatever he/she is pushing?

Most of us are close friends with our financial advisors. So yes, I’ll go with that vs. a random on the internet.

A House of Cards - Part 1

Prerequisite DD:
1. Citadel Has No Clothes

2. BlackRock Bagholders, INC

3. The EVERYTHING Short

4. Walkin' like a duck. Talkin' like a duck

Might want to put your tinfoil hat on before reading, but keep in mind that regardless of TFH it can still have a significant effect on the market and the psychological factor in stock prices cannot be ignored.

bought some target and nvidia. nvda is set to split 4-1 in the coming weeks. and after the chip shortage thing is over we should see good results. bought target after the good earnings report.

also wanted to diversify my ETFs a bit more and get exposure to world markets. So bought VT (vanguard total world stock). I think that cryptocurrency, being decentralized and only requiring an internet connection, will allow more of the world to have access to banking and trading goods (people in sub saharan africa, women in saudi arabia who are not allowed to have a bank account, etc)

currently the number of people with a cell phone has just overtaken the number of people with a bank account.

Big GME info:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/...t_news_is_yet/

Also, GME crypto token will become available in July:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/...me_token_info/

I didn't buy BTC....didn't buy DOGE...but I do plan on buying some GME crypto.

edit - for those who have been following...its release day is July 14th, aka Bastille Day. AKA when the French Revolution kicked off against the monarchy. Bastille also happens to be a synonym for Citadel. As in, Citadel the hedge fund shorting GME.

Can't even make this shit up.

i've watched the show. did my research. you can do yours. i don't think anything i said in my post is untrue. just giving my thoughts on why i think a world ETF is going to do well in the coming years as crypto can help increase globalization.

i'm just waiting for the rug pull ... again

i don't think the rocket will really take off until the GME shareholders meeting
but it's always nice to see the share price higher than lower

Can one of you old timers with far more knowledge than me break down why this is bullshit? Seriously, tamp my interest in GME. Show me how these conclusions redditors are coming to are dead wrong.

Well for one, you're dealing with a lot of assumptions. Very little of that is actual hard data. It's easy to get caught up in a echo chamber where everything is taken as fact when a lot of it are just guesses. People are going to see what they want to see in the data and ignore anything that opposes their viewpoints.

I agree that GME has a substantial short position still that has not been closed yet and that those massive short positions are being concealed in failure to delivers in ex-clearing arrangements and married puts. The problem is.... unless you're the one who is doing the hiding, you have no idea of the actual size of it. Not to mention there currently is no way to stop them from just kicking the can down the road for years and just resetting the FTDs, potentially forever at relatively little cost to them.

So all we have are guesses.....that people will take as fact. Even if you had perfect information about short positions, there is no guarantee that this will pay out, as you have no idea what the other long counter parties involved in this will do (e.g. institutions that own millions of shares, insiders, other retail holders) so tread carefully with such a volatile stock. Have fun with it but don't invest more than you can safely afford to lose. Cheers.

The thing that might stop them is either 1) thinking there is another stock with a better outlook for shorting 2) thinking gamestop has a real bright future as a company

As spiteful as any human-being can be, another better opportunity is also a high motivation.

At this point it may still feel as though GME AMC and the memes (and the cryptos or at least the alt coins) are all just a bubble joke, but the jury is still out. 🍿

Patterson from Bridgewater gave a recent interview saying "crypto remains speculative". I take that at face value, that crypto is nothing more, nothing less, than speculative.

What? I'm confused. Why would that make them close out their liability?

Lets say for example that I owe $20K in credit card debt. There's nothing that stops me from opening new credit cards at 0% interest and just using the new credit card to pay off the old one. That's essentially what they do when they reset the FTDs. They can just keep resetting them forever. Why would Gamestop doing well or another opportunity make me pay back my debt? I'm just choosing not to pay it back. Ever. It doesn't matter how much I owe, or how many shares I have to buy if I never have to pay it back.
