I was stationed in German when MTV launched. One of the guys went on leave to the U.S. and brought back an hours long tape of MTV vids. We watched that tape so many times I can still vividly recall it.

I was in Okinawa at that time. When I came back to the States, I couldn't get enough MTV. That lasted until they started doing more than just videos.

Remember any of the music videos that were on the tape? Probably all their originals ones.

I'm very nostalgic for MTV and watch the classic channel all the time.

I always thought getting old was about not being ABLE to do anything. Now that I'm older I can see that's not the case. It's about not WANTING to do anything.

I think people get old in their mind long before they are old in their body. I've been saying I'm old for many years, but I'm just 53. I think back to when I was 43 and was saying I was old, and I'm like, damn, what I wouldn't give to have 43 back...
