I'm pulling the trigger this Sunday; I'll monitor the 14 day forecast and decide. I'm actually switching to high performance all seasons, so it wouldn't mind the slight chilly weather where Summers would still be shivering.

Hopefully no snow will actually gather on the ground from now and on!

I rolled the dice and switched back to summer last Friday. Then we got snow on Monday. But wasn't bad. lol.

No way, you got a cheque? what was the amount? I cracked my rim at night... no opportunity to take a picture

The rim was bent. I got it repaired and they paid the whole bill. Only a couple hundred bucks max. Better than nothing though.

I'm curious how fast you folks hit these pot holes. I don't ever recall cracking a rim, or bending one (unless it's very subtle. I don't feel any vibration from the front/rear) on any of my previous or current cars.

You probably have never driven on 19's in the winter. And yes I know I'm an idiot for doing so.

I've never driven on 19's period; I did the whole ultra low profile tire thing when I was in the VW scene and it's not for me anymore. I like my spine not shattered. 17" for winters (e90 and STI) and 18" for summers. 16" (summer only) on the e30.

I'm switching to my 17s is weekend. Our city is dong reasonably well filling in potholes, so am confident it will be OK. Not as good as my 16" winters, but oh well...

17" is fine, my winters are on OEM Style 158.
No way I'm going to my summers (18", staggered), even though there are probably people rolling on 19s soon!

My 19's are going on as we speak.

I might be jumping the gun a bit but I had the car in my shop anyways (I work at a dealership. No, not BMW) to look at something else, so I figured I may as well kill 2 birds with one stone.

Wish me luck!

I just switched over to my all seasons right now. I'll wait until the end of the month to goto full summers.

I use 19's for winters, all seasons and summers.

Just did the switch as planned and now they're calling for 10cm of snow on Monday. Sounds about right...

April 18th for me and I agree with what Mr Pig said.

17s in the winter and 18s in the summer. Toronto roads are brutal for 19s.

The way the temp has been going up and down, I'll be lucky to have my summer sets on in May. Very unhappy, want the e30 back on the road already

So far, so good! Except my rears rub a bit now with the spacers, so I have to watch the roads ahead of me veeeery carefully for big dips...

I'll wait till maybe end of April to switch with the type of weather we're having, I wouldn't be surprised if we will have a snow in the middle of April, heck maybe a winter storm!

I'm in no rush right now.

As a rule I switch at Easter weekend and Thanksgiving. Has worked for me for years.
Good luck!
