No runs with the E93? lol
Im curious to see what people can get out of the E93 because a 13.9-14.0 advertised 1/4 mile does not really look too good...the car does though. |

I just bought a 335i with Dinan Stage II, it has borla exhaust, k&n air filter, and some 19" (probably heavy) with crapy tires on it.
As soon as i get a chance, I will take it to the track. I HAVE NEVER RACED ON A DRAGSTIP BEFORE. on the streets, it will boil the rear tires trrought out 2nd gear.... remember... tires are CRAP!!!! coupe, 6speed man., space grey, red, black wood, willl send pics when work slows down - jan/feb.... later |

Just got back from the track this weekend. Car is bone stock except JB2. 92 octance pump fuel. Bridgestone re-050 non run-flats on the rear. Air temp was around 55 degrees and our track elevation here is 1909.
Car ran very strong 60' 2.18 (not so great but i only got one run) 1/8 mile 8.01 1/4 mile 13.02 1/4 mile trap 109.88 Overall very happy, i think with a few more runs getting my 60' down i could be an easy 12.8-12.9 Thanks BMS for your great product! |

Well, I went on Sunday since usually there are ALOT less people there... but it was SOO nice out that it was packed, especialy all of the crotch rocket thugs who find it cool to run solo and not display results
Anyway, so after sitting in line for a little over an hour heat-soaking my engine and breathing exhaust I finally got up and ran a 13.6 @ 106. Engine was 240 degrees and outside ambient temp was 73. I let it cool down a bit and went again, this time without all of the idling heat-soak, I ran 13.2 @ 106. Engine was about 220 this time, and ambient was showing 65 outside. I was going to run again (maybe get 2-3 hot-laps) but they closed it I think if I could run 2-3 back to back hotlaps on a 50 degree day I could get high 12's up around 108. Stock, I ran 14.0 @ approximately 103/104 not sure the speedo wasn't printing out that day. Of course that was with the stock clutch delay valve still in the car as well. Funny thing is, there is STILL a small delay when shifting even with DTC/DSC fully off. Weird. It gets worse as the gear shift gets higher (like 1st to 2nd is fast, 2nd to 3rd little delay, 3rd to 4th more delay) The car I drove now has SSTT, RR OCC, RR CDV mod, exhuast 5/32 "golftee" mod, and Redline 5W30 oil. E92 6MT 2008 335i Steele Dragway 1/4 mile 93 octane stock RFT's, stock wheels, etc. no air pressure adjustments no weight reduction 2.176 60' 5.901 330' 8.926 1/8 @ 81.3 13.632 1/4 @ 106.26 2.055 60' 5.634 330' 8.611 1/8 @ 84.02 13.271 @ 105.59 As you can see, on the 2nd run I trapped 3mph faster at the 1/8th but then dropped 1/2 a mph on the 1/4... this is because the 3rd to 4th shift delay screwed me. A friend of mine was there with his new Charger, he laughed when I told him I was hoping to hit high 12's... you shoulda seen the look on his face when I hit 13.2 and he only ran a 12.9 @ 113 with a 100 shot of NO2 ! I have the quickest and only E93 on DragTimes.com (last time I checked) at 12.77et. And the Quickest 60' time of any 3 series running stock runflats (60'@1.77). With the exception of maybe a 335xi. I think the extra weight of the E93 initially allows for more traction, but trap speeds suffer from too much weight. I'll be going back this Spring w/ the New JB3 & maybe an I.C; so my times should Improve. 1) Model and Transmission: "2007"E93/Steptronic. 2) Elevation, Temp and Humidity: 600ft, 70*, 65%. 3) All perf. modifications done to the car: JB2HR & U.R.Coated Down-Pipes w/ stock exhaust. 4) Level of gas ran and how much gas in the tank? 100 octane w/1/4 of a tank. 5) Any weight reduction done to the car?? None 4,000lbs. 4) Type of tires and rims?? Stock 18" Sport Rims & (RFT) Run-Flat-Tires@ 23psi. 5) Years of driving the type of transmission?? 6 months w/ this transmission. 6) Obviously some type of proof of your 0-60 time, trap speed and finally quarter mile time. Preferably some video or slip or link to the drag time slip website to your direct slip. Track conditions vary, but this is what worked for me this run... A. I let the Rear air pressure down to 23psi, because i had bad wheel-hop running standard psi earlier. B. DSC Completely off C. Trans. in DS in manual mode. D. Burnout in water box to warm the tires up. E. Power Brake to 2,200 RPM then launched...hard! Track conditions were Great. 3,995lbs. without Driver(+220lbs). So Race weight was 4,215lbs! Here I am running against my Buddies Beautiful Cayman S. He ran a 13.01et w/Exhaust & Intake mods. Typical 0-60 runs are in the 4.20-4.30 sec.range. This one was a fluke, but it looks good.

For what you said about NA cars, Yes. But I don't think Turbo and elevation has any effect. The only effect on Turbo cars is Limp mode and Heat Lmao

1st of all, Yes, I am replyin to myself. 1) E92 6 speed man. 2) dont know... about 70ish degrees 3) Dinan Stage II, Borla Muffler, K&N Filter 4) 93 octane and 3/4 of a tank 5) Any weight reduction done to the car?? (keep baby seat in car... hehe) 4) Type of tires and rims?? 19x9.5 I guess, BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDW 300 AA A 5) Years of driving the type of transmission?? many (15 years) driving std, 1st time ever at track. 6) I promise. Trust me... it won't be hard to believe .1101 ------- reaction 2.2458------- 60 FT 5.9092------- 330 FT 8.9161 ------ 1/8 ET 82.00 ------ 1/8 MPH Alright.... here's the deal (never did a burnout, but there is rubber all over the rear of my car): DTC OFF (press and hold): I could not launch hard without breaking the tires loose, and even if I soft launched it, when i hit 2nd it would start spinning the tires. DTC sport mode: I would try to launch hard, and it would peel out a bit, and then cut power (like its supossed to)... through-out 1st and 2nd, the traction light would flash...(ie.cutting power). It wasnt' until 3rd gear that i would stop loosing traction. DTC active (not pressed): same as above, but without any peeling out. Steady ctting power. Best run was with DTC Off, and babying it off the line, and easier 2nd gear shifts. |

To answer your shifting questions, I heard people say redline/6300/6500. I usually do redline, but will def try 6300/6500 out next time I'm at the track. GL
