Yeah looks like I was on a pretty tough rotation when all that went down, so I missed it at the time. Glad to see that car was so appreciated

This past weekend we gutted the 335d driveline and pushed the shell out on dollies. Here are some photos and a video of that:
I also started (and finished) disassembling the door panels for custom dye match work for the new leather I chose for the sport seats. They are at the upholstery shop now and I anticipate the interior being done before the body. I've gone with a custom color shown here - hard to tell what it looks like but will be a beautiful contrast with the Montego Blue and the grain matches nicely to the vinyl on the door panels.

Love seeing the progress on this. The gauges look really good. I don’t know enough about coding to attempt the 200mph speedo but I’m a fan.
Any plans to do regular YouTube videos of this build? It may get enough viewers to actually turn a little profit from ad revenue. I love watching build channels. Just a thought. |

There seems to be a formula just as a viewer. 14-18 minutes or so, some time lapse with non copy-written music and clear audio seem to be the trick. That and clickbait titles with exciting words. Hahaha. You got this. If you can build this monster the you should be fine making a channel. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to find decent 335d videos. Slowly more are popping up.

From what I remember, there are a few different angle vs kph values in the eeprom. You’ll just have to adjust those to reflect your new scale. Might even be possible to do with tool32 instead of opening the cluster up.

Small update - car has begun surgery:
Also I'll be sending out my flex plate and OE flywheel (manual) to Clutch Masters for a custom flywheel and clutch setup capable of holding 700-800lb-ft - that seemed to be a possible weak link and although I didn't really budget or want to spend the extra on these parts, I think it's necessary for safety and longevity. I also just ordered a custom nicety for the interior that I'll show you when it's done.

Following to see where your manual swap ends up.
Most of the swaps either dont have a complete parts list and instruction for coding. I can live with stock like hp if it were a manual alone. I dont know how much longer I can do this auto thing! |

Some updates...the car is still at the body shop, as I'm adding some details and more panels to be painted. Looks like it'll end up either a full or almost full repaint so at least everything will look amazing.
My buddy and I disassembled the door panels and dyed them to match the custom leather color and they look amazing. Here is a sneak peek of both the door panels (redyed, not new material) and the actual new leather: Here is the color I chose compared to E9x factory saddle brown: and also compared to factory E39 M5 caramel: and here are the seats so far: Some paintwork photos (nowhere near done or finished yet): Custom clutch and flywheel (single mass steel) from Clutchmasters that should hold all the torque: M-Sport conversion parts (including pano roof cassette and headliner) are here along with some M3 goodies to remove the wheel paddles:

Perhaps a good opportunity to get the BMW Stainless / 335is Pedals - would fit the whole M-sport theme. BMW Part number 35000410099 for the manual set. Comes with a whole new gas pedal along with the other covers, and IIRC it's a little cheaper than a standard manual pedal by itself. How they look in my M3: |

If you're okay with the dead pedal having an M-logo, M dead pedal matches pretty well: 51477906850 (and the 335is as well as various M-sport models across the pond did come with that stock). That is not as reasonably priced though, so perhaps finding a used one is the way to go. Seems to be the same part regardless of coupe vs sedan vs wagon. |

Beautiful work so far. I've been watching your thread, love the work. Can you explain how you got the door panel inserts out? I thought the plastic studs were all plastic-welded (melted) into place?
Will be watching the build closely! Keep us updated with photos!
