Finally had a break in the rain to take a photo of the V4 vs V5 on my E90. The LUXs are set at 5200K (and appears whiter in real life than in the photo).
You can see that while the inner rings are mostly the same (although discernible in real life), the outer ring is noticeably brighter with the V5 and more closely matches the brightness of the inner ring. One other thing that I noticed on the V5 is that they come on approximately 0.2s later than the V4 upon ignition. Overall the V5 is an improvement over the V4. The whole car is actually in shadow. Took a look again when it was night out, and the V5s are definitely brighter.

Jem is your blue a constant blue? I realized the blue led's are just flickering with the whites to mix and create a blue tone light. I sometimes see it as white with spots of blue leds flashing around.

The led's are both constant, no flickering. They are mainly white with blue spots in between the ring.

they look nice, but no dimming. How come they can't fix this?

Have been advised by a specialist that I can get the LCi lights fitted to my E93.
All I need to do is fit the facelift bumper. Cannot wait to have those updated headlights! |

Anyways, the E90 LCI still doesn't look good in the daytime, especially at 12k. I however like to see the blob of light, that way you can really tell that they are still not as bright as the OEM halogen. Look at this photo for example - you can clearly see that the halogen is a big blob of light compared to the V3.

I decided to stick with my V4. I replaced the OEM to get away from the yellow light and they do that nicely. The rings are the limiting factor in brightness, so no matter what happens to the bulb they will never look like the 2012+ OEM.

there are E90 1M bumpers, but of course they're reps not OEM.

Normal, depending on what colour setting you've picked. I'd suggest before buttoning things up, play with the colour settings and see what you like most. I think I'm like 2 or 3 from the whitest, and see still a few spots of blue.
