So to date thats $118 trying to go cheap.

After reading this thread I bought a set of Lux e90 V6 from Extreme Power House for $118.75. They gave me free shipping and an instant discount. So after installing them yesterday I can say these are the brightest I've ever seen and the design is like comparing a Tank to a Geo. Here are some before and after pics.

By the way you don't have to take the wheel off just turn it outward, unscrew 7 8mm nuts, 1 10mm plastic nut and your inner liner pulls right out. Your in within 10 mins.
Awesome, glad you are happy with your purchase from us

Just installed Lux H8 160 6500? Anyhow very white, very bright. Couple of things, O ring does not go into the housing seals on outside and my wires were VERY brittle. I have never seen wiring crumble on both sides the way it did. My 60' Falcon has better wires after all these years 1st owner so I know.
If you look at the light pipe it's amazing that amount of light gets through, how it winds around like a big fiber optic in a way. Very happy so far, now will put them in my wife's 09' Z4.

Could you send me a picture of what you mean about the wires being brittle? I have never seen this before so i'm curious as to what you mean. Sales@LuxAngelEyes.com

I'd assume he's talking about the stock wiring. The stock wiring is prone to degrading over time. It doesn't happen to every car though so I'd assume it's related to the conditions the car has been exposed to. High heat, low humidity? Not sure.

If you see any exposed wire, be sure to fix it.

There has been more extreme cases then this.

If you are replacing an H8 angel eye with an H8 regular led bulb, it will not work well.

Angel eyes, like the HPB 240W H8 Angel eyes we offer, have LED specifically located to point towards the optics for brighter angel eyes. If you just put a regular H8 LED in there the light will be shooting all sorts of the wrong way and your angel eyes won't have the best output. You lose a lot of your output putting light where it's not needed basically.

LUX are generally accepted as best now. I imagine development has stopped though as the illuminated rings in the e90 are outdated technology.

If you want modern, bright white angel eyes then you have to replace the actual rings in the housing with something like Bavgruppe ones.

I'm about 5% interested in how bright my angel eyes are and about 95% interested in how evenly the light is distributed between the inner and outer rings.

Whats my best bet for a clean, white, evenly-as-possible-distributed light?

Also what is the best option for making the fog lights match the same color light as the angel eyes? The factory fog lights are yellow just like the factory angel eyes.

Thanks!

Changing bulbs will not get you what you want then. You need a full headlight replacement. try OSS

Yes but surely there are some bulb options, even within the LUX lineup, that are better than others when focused solely on light distribution.

I'm just looking for the best option to suit my preferences without having to do a full blown headlight assembly.

Cory S posted earlier in this thread with a bulb that I think looks great, but didn't supply much detail.

This distribution flaw is in the factory headlight design and fiber optics. There is no way to counteract it. I've personally used over 10 LED Angel Eye kits... trust me brother.

The lights become more evenly lit, but still not perfect, the further away you view them.

Agreed with what Jeff says. The inner and outer rings a physically different in shape and how they emit the light. There is no way to make them exactly the same. the design of our lights however does focus as much light as possible into the outer rings to help compensate for this.

We have aligned the LED's in the reflector in such a way that it does not overpower the inner ring yet focuses the light to the outer ring.

I paid $43.00 for the set with shipping. They installed super easy, and look fantastic...

The picture attached doesn't even do them justice. They look perfect in person.

Up close picture was with the sun out at 3pm. They look even whiter in person.
I can't believe how even these look! Please share which bulbs they are. My Lux H8 V3 failed (2 burnt and 1 detached emitters) and I'm in need of replacements

Sorry to hear that these have stopped working, but these are some of our very old ones, i would say 6 years old or so? the LUX H8 189 angel eyes we offer now will be well over 2x as bright. We have a link in our signature for these as well.

Hmm...the V7s in my E90 are super even across both rings. I've always been really happy with them.

I run these in the fog lights and no problems there either:
https://www.mteclightingusa.com/MTEC...mt-616-h11.htm

Since the LUX angel eyes are super white, the fog lights do appear to be just slightly blue in color when directly comparing the two...but they're not any more blue than factory HID headlight bulbs so given that, all three bulbs (stock HID bulb, LUX V7, MTEC 6000k LED fogs) are all a fairly good/even match together.
