Oddly enough this morning on my way to work I saw a black 230i M-sport loaner from habberstad with the giant banner on the back window. Wonder if it was the same older couple. |

Just spotted a BG M240i at the Lowe’s in my little wisconsin town. First I’ve seen in the area so I’m hyped to have a buddy when mine is finally delivered. Had road America plates too!

I don’t think they are making many. We are lucky we got this new generation at all. BMW is probably loosing money on this car. It is at the very least a risk for them. They can make another cross-over or SAV and know they will sell them all day. With these it’s a very niche market. I think those of us on this forum may get a slanted view of the real world as it pertains to our cars since everyone here is at least somewhat of an enthusiast.

I spotted a white 230i in Miami, South Beach early February. Caught another one, 230i, in downtown Raleigh NC about a week ago. Haven't seen an M240i in the wild yet other than the one I test drove at the dealer in Raleigh.
Can't wait to be one of the rare and the few |

In comparison they made something like 500k X5. So yeah, the G42 is a rare vehicle |

That's pretty "rare" when compared to the size of the U.S. A single model used to sell in the hundreds of thousands a year back in the day.
Heck, even the C8 Corvette sold 25,831 units in 2022 and I still see very few of those out and about. |

Definitely not disputing the rareness of the car. The post above mine stated that BMW made a little less than 4 thousand 2 series cars across the whole 2 series model line for the U.S. market. That doesn't appear to be the case if you believe anything on the internet.

Interesting
This thread is more interesting than I ever thought it would be.
First, we are old couple in Michigan with a M240 ! Since were waiting for >6 Months for a car and there are not any on dealers' lots it seems rarer than other cars of this type. The factory is pumping everyday somebody is buying them. Overseas hot car ? Just curious Hap |

I just spent roughly 5 days in SoCal from SD up to LA and everywhere in between, and never saw a single G42. I saw more Toyota Mirais in the Disneyland parking garage than I saw G42s.

I'm thinking about making a trip to the Flats once the weather decides what it wants to do for more than 3 days straight. We should see who else is around the area and try to get a group of us to go. |

There is a TNM that rolls around downtown periodically. A member of the CCA has a very nice Portimao Blue example. And a wonderful retired gentleman has a Brooklyn Grey example in Ogden. They're around, but not common. |
