I got Thundernight with black interior. It looks badass and dealer said it was the first one they'd seen. It's harder to keep clean than grey or white, but it's still better than black and still pops with a bit of dust on it.
I liked Brooklyn Grey with red interior too, but the deciding factor for me is that there are a ton of other grey cars on the road, so it's not nearly as unique as Thundernight. You can buy a grey car anytime, but not very many cars have a purple option, especially in the 2 series price range. The blue also looks fantastic, especially with red brake calipers, but again lots of other sporty cars have similar colors available. Last edited by Jork; 02-04-2023 at 03:21 PM.. |

This is how I see grays... primer with a clearcoat LOL.
I get it... Gray is the new silver. And it's a "safe" color from the choices available. And see it on every car to a Rav4. But I'd love to have a G42 with a deep metallic silver... like Lexus' Atomic Silver. A G42 with a silver like that would be amazing. |

Some people might see purple and see Barney...... In the end, the heart wants what the heart wants. I went to look at the BG that I purchased knowing that it had a Tacora Red interior. I was ready to hate it (black would have been a classic combo), but it turns out I loved it. Go figure. I tend to get attached to my cars and keep them for 5+ years, so having a classic color works for me.
However, I love the look of TN and love seeing it on the road. Everybody has their favorite and that's what makes life so interesting. It would be terrible to have only one color choice, but I do love grey/silver, especially on German cars. To me, it's timeless. And I did check out the Lexus Atomic Silver. It certainly has tons of depth and agree that the 2 series would look great in that. Last edited by wb8164; 02-05-2023 at 06:25 PM.. |

I honestly like the Thunder Night Metallic. Not a Barney blue or Plum Crazy but a deep very metallic... eggplant?? Show's off the car in all lighting conditions and doesn't have much color shift to look bad in some lighting. It works as far as a launch color. Worlds better than ZB
If I had in TN, I'd call it Purple Rain |

With that being said... I just saw my first BG M240i on the road. Actually maybe my first M240i on the road (I've seen 230i's).
If you were driving an M240i in Tampa around 1pm on N. Nebraska ave with CF spoiler (I think it was the larger BMW Performance wing)... Looking good. I was driving my 2001 Z06 and you past by me. |

If I had in TN, I'd call it Purple Rain ---------------------------------------------- I think that Zandvoort Blue might take some time to get used to, hopefully. I did see a recent video where it didn't look so washed out. I'd hope that it looks like the old Gulf Porsche Blue. With that said, it's a color that I'd love to see in the wild. Congrats! Looks like the same build. I tried to order Cognac but they kicked it back. Turned out fine with the Oyster. Wife loves it. Ours won't be a daily driver so hopefully that white interior won't be hard to keep clean.

I like both too, but my wife was an adamant NO on the Purple. Which was a surprise. I’m pretty sure I’m going with Brooklyn, but I do like the Portimao too.

Portimao Blue is a gorgeous color and probably would have been my first choice until I saw BG in person. I just like how the grey vs. black trim pops. A bonus is how well BG hides dirt/dust. To my eye, it hides dirt better than silver, which is saying something.
In any case, you can't go wrong. Each color brings something to the table. In the end, as long as you like what you're looking at, that is all that matters. |

Congrats Hapbob Love the OW interior. As I mentioned before, really wanted the light interior with the TNM but did not want leather seats.
Still have the 230? Do you notice a clear difference in any aspect? |

Of course she gets a “say”. I could still get Thundernight if it was my dead set favorite (it’s not). Happy wife happy life man. Plus, I’m asking her because I’m just not sure what to order. I’m not in love with any of the options. Also, my last two cars were black, and I’m tired of having a dark car that always looks dirty. The Thundernight is just too dark. Same goes for the Portimao Blue, which is why I’m leaning towards the Brooklyn Grey. If the Blue option was Laguna DONE!! If the purple option was more like Twilight, or Lamborghini Viola Parsifae DONE!!
If the M240 was eligible for the Individual program (and it was an option) I’d 100% be ordering Isle of Man Green, regardless of anyones opinions. Love that color! |

I have 4 cars currently and all are WHITE except for the Brooklyn Grey M240i.
When I was shopping for a car last month, the BMW dealer had two M240i cars - one white and one BG. Both were the exact same specs except for the $650 premium paint charge for the BG Metallic. I was almost 100% positive that another white car would follow me home until I saw the BG and really liked it. My wife liked it very much as well and that sealed the deal. . |

If I were going to go white it would be the Mineral White over Alpine White. The metallic brings out the lines better than AW. I kept going back and forth between BG, PB and MW before I put in my order. Still think about it cause still can change but still sticking with PB.
