Addendum & Thanks
All-
Thanks for the valuable info; I have not heard of some of those vendors but will check them out when I return if/when need to. Alright, here are my inputs: 20/20 Auto Detailing These guys are fantastic. It's been a while since I've used them, but they do great work. They are pricey, but do offer various packages ranging from a basic service, to one that keeps your ride sparkling for 6 months, guaranteed (by them, not me). Central Body & Paint Spot on! My 3 got hit in a parking lot (right rear quarter panel) and BMW had me drop it off downtown, and they sent it to these guys. Pricey, but that's what insurance is for. I could not tell there had been any damage. Terrence Ching This is not to bash him, just give my .02 cents. In my process to purchase my M, I decided to call BMW Hono and got TC as my CA. Seems like a good dude and answered all of my questions, but when I tried getting into a bottom line, economy bad, that I'm saving 5k if I chose to go with Pentagon Military Sales, etc...he seemed to give me the company line; I'm purchasing an M, and folks doing that know the car, know you can't go below the set numbers, etc...so as I thought, I went with my original option. Again, not that he was wrong, but maybe you had more wiggle room because you were getting a used one, vice new; not sure. But I felt he was a little too quick to jump, vice taking the 'let's see what I can offer you' approach. Gooch

Gooch,
Don't know about pentagon but I would highly highly recommend angela verde from superiormotorsmsp.com to order your bimmer via military sales. She is super easy to work with and keeps you updated throughout the whole process. DO NOT work with anyone else. I ordered my E90 330i with them back in 2005 while i was in OIF. Just ordered my 2010 E90 335i a couple months ago. The only way to buy a new BMW IMO. You get the car custom ordered at set price and don't have to deal with salesperson.

I was able to order the specs I wanted and I got 7.5k off MRSP. I'm assuming that's a pretty good deal...? I think I paid 62.4ish... Glad you had an equally good experience. That is definitely key and my previous guy in 06 (diff guy but same MSP) was fantastic as well, which is why I went with them for this purchase.

Good tread guys I dealt with Island Brake & Alignment when I had my G35. They did a great job aligning my car with modified suspension and they also installed a aftermarket brake kit for me. I ended up going to them for all my brake/alignment needs over Infiniti of Honolulu.
Also purchased a FX35 from BMW of Hono I forgot my CA name already since it's been about 2 years now but I was able to pretty much get that car with only 7k miles for 29k out the door. Now that I live in San Antonio I was hoping my experience with BMW would be just as much fun as BMWHL no such luck. Had to go back and forth over my E92 for about 3 seperate attempts but we finally made it happened. Took a good 4hrs to seal the deal where as BMWHL had me out the door in 2hrs including test drive. I also recommend SONICs off on Nimtz at the Sand Island access road They work on mostly sport compact cars but their crew seem to like to try new things and installed the lowering springs/rolled the finders on my G35 for $150! |

My favorites:
Vernon Chee, service advisor at BMW. I've used some other goons that were horrible so now I stick with him. He has yet to mention anything about my mods (with the exception of "damn they stretched those tires on). Tina Sterling, BMW sales. Been there a long time. Mom of pro surfer Jamie Sterling. I've gotten 3 BMWs from her. She's moved to the pre-owned side but still does new sales if you contact her. Best thing is, if I ever get any crap from the service or any other part, she marches over there and kicks some ass. Tint: Pamalu - The original minds behind lava lining, a nasty divorce split the company but Pamalu got the master tinter. The best, period. Bodywork: Chuck's Corvette. Thankfully, I haven't needed them, but I've known the wife for years. I have 2 buddies with Ferraris, and they both used the shop with excellent results. I may try some color match painting for some add-ons at some point. A&A: Good stuff. It's weird, but you should talk only to Albert. His partner always seems to tell me Albert's on a test drive when he answers the phone, and that they're really busy (which they are but mostly cuz they have only 2 lifts), but if you get a hold of Albert directly, he'll help you asap. As mentioned earlier, for mod work, they pull hours directly off Dinan's web site and will charge you $90 per, based on what they find there. I think you can get a little flex there, though. To me, if you can't do it yourself Albert's worth it since you know they aint going to screw your car up. Revolution will do it for cheaper, but who knows how many e9x's they've been into. Albert's an enthusiast, too- Drives a e46M he picked off the management at BMW before he left. What about cosmetic rim repair? Any experiences? BMW sent my old 7 series rims for repair and they came back spanking new, but I didn't figure out where they sent it. It was done in a day. I got some scuffs on one of my Advan RS that could use attention.

808E90 aka Ricky just did my RD SPORT SPRING, fast work on installing the spring, did a great job. He double make sure everything are in the right place. I was amazed my steering is straight, didn't pull to the right or left.
Highly recommended if you guys need work done on your car. Thank you very much Ricky! |
