So don't move your car, and they won't cut the grass. When the grass gets long enough and people start to complain, they'll cut the grass when you aren't home. Or, ask them what the schedule is for the lawn service, and just take that car to work that day. As a renter you have no dog in this fight.

I've lived in HOA communities for over 20yrs. I don't mind it and I know how to get what I want. For example, a neighbor ratted me out for having an old tire stuffed behind a shrub, behind my A/C unit next to my house. No one could see it unless you walked around the side of my house. It was there for eight years. Two days after my wife had the argument with a neighbor, I had a notice on my door from the county that I was in violation for having junk car parts on my property. The HOA also sent me a notice and threatened to fine me. Knowing the rules, I went to home depot and got a thick piece of rope and hung the tire from the tree in front of my house. Guess what, it was now a tire swing for my kids. I had one when I was kid. Nothing anyone could do. Even the president of the HOA said "good move Doc, we can't force you to take it down."

So play by the rules and let the HOA and the landscape company figure it out. They can't force you to move the car from where it should be parked to begin with, no one can argue with you on that point. Just don't be a dick. Take the passive aggressive approach. Trust me, it works with HOA's.

I foking despise HOA. Even though I've had one at two properties for two decades.
I personally don't have an issue with staying in compliance. Heck I generally win "Yard of The Month". But the fact that 95% of ALL Communities in Texas force you to be in one if you want to live in a nice or affluent neighborhood is bullshit. Ours doesn't maintain our yards or really benefit shit for the $700-$1k annually. If you take pride in your home which you should in this price point anyway, HOA should not even exist. I've read some major horror stories too...

I always see posts on Nextdoor and ring about people having shit stolen and car breakins etc. Never had any issues here, which is good when we leave for a few months at a time.

Condos are the WORST though. I would never do that again! At my moms condo I remember I went to one of the HOA meets per her request. The HOA people literally started yelling and screaming at the people attending the meeting basically ending the meeting halfway through and basically stating "fuck you guys, I'm going home!".

Lol...sounds like a small town hall meeting.

I'm thinking the same thing, yet he claims he doesn't want any drama with his landlord. At some point the landlord will be notified if this keeps up. Just move the car and the entire issue disappears, pretty simple.

This needs to be addressed at HOA meeting. I live in a condo, our HOA is great, no issues here. My cars have been constantly damaged on the parking lot by neighbors but they have nothing to do with that

Simple fix. Move your car or move. Next.

Personally I would have no issues moving the car if the lawn care company already damaged my car. The HOA and the lawn care company most likely think you are the pain in the ass. Had a car wash screw up my rims a few years ago. How did I fix this you may ask. I filed a complaint, provided photos to the owner. They fixed my wheels and I stopped going to that car wash. Simple problems require simple solutions.

Honestly, moving the car would be easier than moving....or taking to the internet to discuss it with people that can't do anything about any of it anyway.

You're a renter, not the homeowner. Options; move or move your car. How hard is it to move your car 50' once a week. Pick your battles.

I bought a weed wacker & did it myself then sent the HOA & landscaping company the invoice for it. They have till tomorrow to get me a reimbursement check.

Before this, I went back & forth with them via email many times. The same bs of you have to move your car & they will cut it. Woman from the HOA called me at one point & left a vm, but no direct # just the main HOA office number which goes to gen vm. I left a msg & she never called me back.

No, no one has to move their car to get the lawn cut. You're not going to pull this bs.

The landscaping company never responded to ANY of the many emails I sent them.

If anyone has any tips or advice on how to get this resolved without going crazy, let me know.
The best way to deal with an HOA is become a member of the board or move.

Rent a few goats to maintain your lawn. If/when the neighbors complain about livestock, simply point out that the HOA's lawncare service is neglecting your place and you didn't want to get fined for lack of maintenance.

Bonus : they're better suited for weeds and such, so it'll take em a good while to trim the lawn, plus it might be good to throw some alfalfa / hay around to get them to eat with the grass. Between this and setting up a perimeter fence to keep them in, it'll be sure to draw attention....

Can't really get on the board of an HOA if you are renting.

Before you go all nuclear-activist, have you verified that renting is even OK with the HOA? I know some of them prohibit it, or have LOTS of extra rules for tenants. You said moving isn't an option, so you might want to check that first, before some irate busybody blows you in and the landlord is forced to evict you. Even if it is legit, landlord will probably care more about keeping the neighborhood happy. On the other hand, it does seem to be rioting-in-the-street season, so make up some 'green lives matter' signs and go for it.

I bitched enough and now we have a floating dock and we're even allowed to fish!

Ruffle some feathers, but try not to get kicked out. Be stern but fair.

Stop being logical.

I say OP goes down to an HOA meeting a ruffles some feathers. Also he should record it for evidence.

South Florida is the same especially Ft. Lauderdale area more so than Miami. You want to live in a decent neighborhood, you're stuck with HOA.
