Old topic however relevant to me now so hoping still someone active here to help.
Car is a 2006 N52 with Gen1 hp19 & MSV70 DME.
I was toying with the idea of swapping in only a Gen2 mechatronics/TCU in the old Gen1 box. So not the valvebody but only swap out the TCU with one from a hp21 gen2 as abviously gen2 is more advanced and seems to have support for better xhp maps eg V3.x & more flash options.
The other idea was to completely swap the 19 for a 21 box.
However so far the feedback has been that gen2 TCU and 6hp21 box in general wouldn't work with MSV70 & requires a MSV80 upgrade too which makes it too much of a hassle for my application.
If Anyone has any accurate info regarding above 2 scenarios would be appreciated.
