I can find things like this https://www.ecstuning.com/b-febi-par...1j0121142~feb/ but seems like not for BMW.
And hard to see which one exactly ya gonna need. |

Honestly check the part-out forums. See if anyone has a radiator clip. That's really the best way beside buying a whole new hose. Edit: holy shit. This is genius. Make one out of a coat hanger. |

Everything I'm finding online says it's a 32mm clip. I've found some on Amazon for $5.....but I won't know if they will fit until I get one in my hands.

If you want to make sure it doesn't fall off in the meantime..... or also a coat hanger could be used like in the video

You could check with callipers to see if the hose or clip slot measure 32mm (or around there). In the meantime, a wire coat hanger is probably your friend.

Yep, I might just try to make something.
I'm pretty sure this is what I need (see link). https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...CABEgIwgfD_BwE

Nice. Google the part number and you might be able to locally source one instead of waiting for it to ship

Thanks!! From what I have seen...they all use that same VW/Audi part number 1J0121142. I might call the local VW dealer and see if they might have it in stock. And if not ..start checking the auto part stores.

Sounds like the VW dealership can get me one of those clips tomorrow...$5. Going to try it, and if it doesn't fit..I will just make one.

I recently did a flush job and used the coolant I got from Autozone it was a blue European formula so those who are saying it isn't compatible works just fine in my car.

They didn't say Blue euro formula wasn't compatible, of course it is it's what the car calls for. You shoudn't mix the colors with each other is what they meant.

Yep. The stuff I got is blue, so it should be fine. Now I wouldn't go dumping in the Orange Ford coolant to top it off if the rest of the system if full of the blue stuff......doesn't seem smart to mix colors of coolant.

Sry to revive an old thread but theres just so much misinformation in this thread.. some have the correct info but others just seem to be talking out of their ass..
For those of u who would like to actually learn something, here's a great read from good ol' FCPEURO - blog.fcpeuro.com/how-to-pick-the-right-coolant-for-your-car TLDR: Zerex G48 coolant is perfectly fine if u cant get OEM BMW coolant but I'd personally stick with OEM if its available.. since it's only a few dollars more concentrate vs concentrate (zerex g48 - $20, OEM BMW - $23). However, since Zerex is more readily available, I can see why ppl would wanna use it.. plus it also comes in a prediluted formula as well as opposed to OEM being concentrate only |

I put Zerex G48 in my car and my fuel economy dropped to 1 MPG.

He must have forgotten to pour the G48 into the BMW container first...
This was a joke, Zerex G48 IS the BMW coolant OEM. I bought a used e46 325i from a friend who was the original owner and it had regular green coolant in it from a indy shop that worked on it. It clearly did have more corrosion in the cooling system and on the thermostat flange, etc than my then 3 year older 330i that was running BMW coolant. Based on that non statistically valid case I do tend to run the BMW coolant. While the green coolant will work the G48 has typically lower silicate and no phosphates so the G48 last longer and protects better. This is an interesting read on the topic: https://www.machinerylubrication.com...t-fundamentals -Rich
