i got mine acouple of weeks and installed it. it didn't have the soldering thing on the bulb, it just came off like a normal bulb. but i didn't get the chance to change the blinkers to red yet, i want to feel the orange blinkers first. have to admit it looks really good with black sapphire.
here are mine with blacklines taken with phone

For those with doubts about blacklines there is one more comparison, Photo taken by seahawk.

said before but this is probably one of the most satisfying while the easiest mod you can do to your E90.

This lights on the Blue car look really nice. Not impressed by the other colors. But blue is good, same with red, white and black.

I think they look the best on blue, and just to reassure that I'm not biased, I have jet black.

Relatively new here. Got the car in August and waited until now for first "mod" - unless rubber all season mats count. . .
Many thanks to the install post and other comments in this thread. Made my install easier. Ordered from Morristown and received lightning fast delivery. Highly recommended. Here're a few pics. The amber lens was soldered in. Other notable: the outer lenses did NOT include nuts to secure. Had to re-use existing nuts. Odd as the set was otherwise inclusive. It was cold and dark out so I did not finish adjusting the outer lenses. Will complete the job tomorrow morning.

lanyard for key. was careless and put the key in the trunk during install. I NEVER do that. . . guess my excitement made me careless.

Oh man, I still don't know!
One of the main reasons I picked the 3 series was because I loved the cool tail lights. Now I'm not so sure anymore! Hmm... Blacklines... I think I might go for them ...right after I give some much needed chrome to my grill and exhaust

Just Installed - Jet Black
Just installed mine today
Thanks for the DIY BTW - I ordered mine from Tischer...funny thing is, the Nissan Frontier I used to own I bought from Tischer Nissan, and I used to live just down the road from Tischer BMW, but now I am in Germany...go figure. OH.....One more thing....anyone put Laminx smoke tint on their blacklines? I would LOVE to see a photo of that, especially on a black BMW...I am considering it myself. Bimmer335i: I ordered from Morristown. My package consisted of a large box with four smaller boxes inside, each containing one segment (wrapped in foam) of the 4-piece assembly and a sheet of paper with their return policy.
Longtran: Thanks for the guide! This was my first DIY of any sort on a car and it went very smoothly: Removing the plugs was definitely the trickiest part. The key, which someone pointed out in another thread (I think), is that the plugs are actually in two segments, like so: The top half of the plug collapses so that it's flush with the bottom half, causing the flanges to expand and secure the plug in its socket. The point: you need to pull on the top of the plug, not the entire plug. I used a flathead screwdriver to create a gap between the two sections of the plug, then a hammer to pull it off. |

Ryan,
Thanks for the info and heads-up on the plugs. Blacklines is definitely my next mod, after the new rims installed. Very nice car, BTW. Good choice on the color! Cheers! |
