I’ve got the VIN.

As for the dealership’s expectations, I’m convinced they’re not putting any serious thought into it. They had told me the whole thing would take “less than six weeks” originally. Last Friday I heard that they expect it in “during the week of 8/9”.

However, the next boat between Bremerhaven and Baltimore is the Texas and that won’t dock in the US until 8/7. That makes it extremely unlikely that I’ll even get my car “during the week of 8/9”. And that’s if my car is even on that boat at all.

This wait for my car is depriving me of sleep, too… but that probably doesn’t mean it’s normal

I'm seeing some disconnect now between the 1800 number and the BMW NA website. Phone tells me I'm awaiting a shipping vessel while the website tells me I'm at the VPC.

Jackspades, the shipping vessel schedules you are looking at may not be the only chances you have. My VPC was Baltimore and I was shipped on the Fidelio. However, the W&W voyage information for this ship did not list Baltimore as a port of call. I don't know whether the ship did in fact dock there or if the car was discharged in NY and ground shipped to the VPC. Do you have more options if you aren't looking for Baltimore as a port of call?

Hmm, it is odd that the website tells you that you’re farther along than the phone number does. That is the opposite of me, and also most people I’ve heard from.

That actually would help a little. The next boat out of Bremerhaven that is making a stop on the east coast of the US is the Elektra, which leaves Germany on 7/23 and reaches New York on 8/4. That’s a three-day savings on both dates vs. the Texas. Of course, I would hope that it wouldn’t add more than three days to ground ship my car from New York to Baltimore, which would totally erase the time saved!

Jack - I still have yet to receive confirmation that I am on a boat...and am becoming increasingly skeptical that I have made either the Talisman or Patriot =(. I know for sure I am at the port, however. Just waiting to be loaded!

Haven't heard anything from my CA but she is usually very quick to report any updates. For this reason, I don't believe I've made it on a boat yet. There goes my wish to have it the first week of August!

If I hear anything, I will definitely let you know. I've been plugging my VIN into the W&W website and a daily basis and keep getting "no record found." Oh well....I knew the port would be the hardest period....and it's ringing true right about now!

I just heard from my CA that the car should be at the dealer here Saturday. So not too bad of a turnaround after being unloaded from the ship last Friday.

Funny thing is that the 1-800 number still says my car is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel!

I, too, have been keeping a close eye on my 135i order. Production was complete on 7/12, and currently the 1-800# has my status as "in transit to the port of exit". Looking at the shipping schedules, it seems like I will end up on either the Courage or the Don Pasquale (both departing 7/28), all of which are scheduled for stops in Brunswick, GA and Charleston, SC. Does anyone know which port PCD cars go to? I have heard some say NY, while others say SC. I have a PCD scheduled for 8/30, so all of those ships would have my car at the VPC in plenty of time. Let's just hope I make it on one of them!

No, not aboard the Elektra (from what I can tell). Initially, I was furious that my VIN wasn't assigned to any boat because I thought the Texas left today. However, I just checked, and the Texas was delayed until tomorrow (and, thankfully, it maintained the same arrival date for Baltimore).

So, it looks like my moment of truth has been postponed for one more day. If my car doesn't make it aboard the Texas tomorrow I don't know what I'll do. Frankly, it would be disgusting if three weeks weren't enough to get my car onto a boat after being completed.

Good for you that yours is making its way across the pond, though.

Jack - i'm rooting for you man. I can't see why you wouldn't make the Elektra or the Texas. Hope to hear some good news soon!

When I check the WW website all I see is 2 more boats left for shipping to the port of New York, New York. Those dates are 7/28 and 8/8. Can anyone confirm? Or am I searching incorrectly?

Thanks

Think I'll make the earlier?

No car yet I'm afraid. Last I heard it was due at the dealer on Saturday, with a tentative delivery today. I haven't heard from my CA to confirm this yet. Even if it is ready for delivery today, after hearing the weather forecast for the afternoon, I'd prefer to wait till tomorrow. I don't want to be dodging golf ball sized hail stones on the drive home!

golf ball sized hail would be bad! So do you know if they transported your car from NYC port to Baltimore or if the ship actually made a stop at the Balt POA?

Seems like it's taking about a week and a half from port to dealer, does that sound about right?

Well we escaped the hail here in the city. Man, this summer has sucked for severe weather. Anyway, the car was ready yesterday, but some other stuff came up, so tomorrow will be the big day.

I'll try to find out where the car was discharged from the Fidelio tomorrow when I pick it up. Right now I'm not so sure. Time wise, it was unloaded from the ship on Friday 7/16 and arrived at my dealer on Saturday 7/24. I would also like to know how the car got from Baltimore to here - I'm hoping it was either a train or covered truck!

Just got a note from my CA....expects my car to arrive at the dealer between August 10-12. That's some pretty good turn around time considering that it will be dropped off in Baltimore on August 6!

Well, looks like I got on a boat...just not a WW boat. I was put on K-Line aboard the Baltic Highway, due to arrive in Baltimore on the 9th of August. Looks like my PCD date will hold up after all.
