The seller says that it is not possible to install it with can activated CIC and I am trying to find out why this could be a problem.

Regards and thanks in advace

I believe that people have had poor results when using more than one emulator in tandem.

Great, DIY - just wanted to know if this part is essential or can you choose not to buy it and code it out? I have CIC

Ah, I see. How did you wire it?

Actually, I think I just figured it out. You'd wire the Emulator to the back of the CIC unit with the matching wires directly.

Just bought all the componets can't wait to install it using this helpful DIY

How is the quality of the trunk handle? Comparable with the OEM one?

Because can filter break the can communication b/w cic and car.
If you fit reverse cam
Emulator before fitting cic eumlator, it gets triggered but when it send messages to cic to bring reverse screen on, due to can filter, these is hesitancy or sometime it does not go back to normal.
Hope that make sense.

Solution is that you need emulator which is not based on k-can or which does not get fitted with cic emulator.
I had one (media card) which was flawless with reverse camera.
Since I moved to NBT therefore that media card is up for sale for 150GBP.
It also allows you to have video input.

three questions:

1. anyone have a pic of what shows up on the nav screen? do we see the rear and PDC view as well?

2. any long term damage possible to the Nav?
3. I am confused there seem to be cameras from 22 to 120 dollars. Do the cheap ones not have the button for the trunk opening? Can I transfer my trunk button from the OEM assembly to the ebay one? or do I need the more expensive camera to retain the button?

I think the first post contains such a Photo. It implies that the rear pdc also works and shows the sensor data on the right side of the screen

I'm pretty sure, but not positive, that it looks the same on CCC.

Installed the same backup camera as the DIY.

OP - Thank you for taking the time to post this option. I love the backup camera!!

For those attempting this, I would recommend unplugging the battery before messing with the NAV harness. I blew a fuse while installing mine when wires were flapping around.

Which version of the camera do you guys buy?...PAL or NTSC?

Also, does this interfere with other CAN items like jb4?
