Depends what kind of meth. If OP was to smoke meth, I think at idle in traffic would be his best choice

did you ever get lower IAT's? I live in Honolulu and often have to crawl home in traffic and my IAT's feel high to me but never go above 130-135. the moment i start moving they usually drop to 120 real quick even on the hottest days. but our hottest days are like 89-91 with glaring sun and 70% humidity. i noticed when i slammed my car that the IAT's got hotter faster and stayed hotter since the car is lower to the hot pavement and has less air flow under the car.

i added the sport oil cooler thermostat thing and deleted the cowl to get mines to even have a max of like 130-135. before this when sitting and idling it would go into the high 140's easily. i think just sitting in bumper to bumper inner city traffic and only hitting like 20 mph before sitting at the next light for another 2-3 mins is what is having the biggest effect on my IAT's, maybe you are in similar conditions. i only have a 5" VRSF FMIC but don't think the IC helps in traffic any... also i have the vrsf CP but didn't notice any change in temps from adding this.

i'm interested to hear if you ever got yours lower and what you did?

Technically the aluminum will heat up and cool faster. The reality is intake temps at idle are moot.

If you are aiming for lower intake air temps at idle, I'd have to ask why?

Your performance in the vehicle is not at idle, only under WOT.

Anyway, you could cover your charge pipe in reflective tape, it would help in the heat transfer but the majority of your problem is lack of air flow at idle.
Im with jeff on the lower temp t stat, with good oil, i barely break 210 in jersey summers when i m on it. As the oil wears i will start to see temps slowly creep. Imo no need for a larger cooler if you also enable the sport engine cooling function on mhd.
However, there is not a lot you can do about rising temps due to traffic, the iat will rise and the oil cooler becomes ineffective regardless of how big it is.
