San Diego california, but can drive up to Los Angeles to help make that list bigger

Gianni

F***ing furious I bought this thing 3 months ago and I don't have it, dealer said its a hardware upgrade and not upgradeable... really confused between what a combox/cic and everything is -- i know my car has a hard drive, and everything, but no BMW apps

If you ever get anything going near Portland, OR, let me know - I'd need the combox retrofit - sept 2010 delivery HDD based.

Not sure it's worth a 9 hour drive each way to Vancouver but it might be a good summer road trip destination.

I'd love to do this, I'm in Chicago!

I just need the "6NR Retrofit + BMW Plugin and Video Playback via the USB cable"

I have a 2011.5 M3 that already has the Combox.

I will have dates for you soon. It will take place in LA area.

Here is a thread Aleks started and this is the same GB we are discussing here, so do not sign up there if you are on my list already.
All terms, conditions and pricing are the same.

i maybe interested in just the combox retrofit, but I have a CCC unit.
What additional items do I have to buy to get the combo box retrofit? I'm guessing I need the hardware for the CIC upgrade first right?

Also what is actually happening at each location for the group buy? Is someone coming onsite to load the software?

thanks

I am interested in:

5.Combox Retrofit + 6NR Retrofit + BMW Plugin and Video Playback via the USB cable
This option combines options #3 and #2.

I live in Boca Raton, Fl.

You will first need to retrofit the CIC HD based drive that became available in 09 and up 3 series. You will also need to retrofit the combox. You cannot retrofit the combox with the old CCC system.

I will be doing the Florida group buy. I will be updating the CIC firmware, I can also install the combox and 6nr hardware. Patrys will be doing all the necessary coding remotely.

Garage List
2009 135i  [0.00]
when you convert the USB under the armrest, and the aux stops working- can I use my ipod Classic to connect to that USB port for cover art, etc - or does it have to be an iphone? Could it be an ipod touch? (does it need iOS?)

I don't like using my iphone for anything other than calls when I'm driving. The snap in kit is a bit of a pain.

The first car in California was retrofitted with our 100% OEM 6NR kit today!
All features including BMW Apps (Facebook, Twitter, Webradio, Pandora), BMW Plugin and Video playback work great.

Our OEM 6NR retrofit kit does not require the new base plate and new snap-in adapter - everything works over USB cable!!!

Enjoy the pictures

It depends on the video format and resolution.
You cannot force it to play in widescreen if the video file is in different format.

Sweet. Can it be coded to play while driving like the DVD player?

WOW. That iPod out looks incredible. You know, I got a new HTC Thunderbolt, and while I love the phone, it does not play nice with the last gen Bluetooth system. I've heard that the new system fixes it, so this is one more thing pushing me towards your retrofit. Gahh...now to convince my dad that losing BMW Assist isn't the end of the world . I'll be honest...if you can get that to work, even if I have to set up a brand new subscription...then I'm 110% on the boat with you. Heck I'll let you rip up my car to put in 6NR for that gorgeous iPod out interface.

If you decide to retrofit the Combox Telematics, which is more expensive than the Media version, but supports BMW Assist, there is still a chance to enable Assist.
At least what I can do for sure is enable the SOS calls, so you will be able to call Assist and they will get your location. However enabling full Assist with their services does not depend entirely on me...
