Yup. He was flaunting his 911 Turbo with 900hp. Lol.

Yeah you need some crazy mods for that - at that point it's better to just get another car, hehe.

R is broken in. Mods started. APR is on. Turbo lag though ... quite a bit more pronounced than the 335. have to learn how to keep the boost up!
Driving this turbo manual, you should drive it in gear around 2500-3000 rpms. Chugging it along around 1500-2000 rpms in 5th or 6th is no good.

No turbo lag if you do that. This car has so much potential as it comes with Td04 already, no need to upgrade turbo.....

It would appear that the peak power is around 3,750 - 4,500 rpm, so it would seem I *have* to hold it there to keep maximum power. It's not easy, though, as there's no real rev limiter..... so you more or less need to powershift it would seem. I dunno. I think an intake and downpipes should reduce the lag a little bit, and maybe with a HPFP I can go to stage 2 APR, so that'll be the most it can do - from there, it's technique

Sorry, I was writing that while thinking about something else. What I meant was it has no throttle control to keep itself from going into the redline. The STI, with Cobb, has a feature that when you clutch to shift, you don't lift off the gas - and it keeps revs under control during the time you are clutched in. That way you can easily preserve the optimal rpms -> preserve boost on shifts.

wow... thats pretty amazing. i didnt know such a function even exists.... i still dont think you need something like that to keep the revs up though. just release the gas a touch when shifting and back on the throttle right as the clutch engages and youre good to go.

It's called NLS for No-Lift-Shift. You set the RPMS at which you want the car to rev when you are full throttle, but in neutral. This so boost can be maintained while shifting your manual tranny. Nothing new, Vishnu has it for the 335s.

Yeah it's been around for a while. Sadly, not available on my car. The silly thing is you don't really need it on the N54 - it kicks boost in SO quickly and at such low RPMs that boost loss is a (comparatively) minor issue compared to single big(ger)-turbo engines.

Which makes me wonder how bad the lag must be on the single-turbo N54 that they've developed now...

Feeler!

Anybody interested in taking my spot for the BMW QC LCMT event next Monday-Tuesday? I am no longer keen as I have recently lost someone very dear to me.

Let me know!

Congrats on the new ride Fahad, now you have the power to go along with the looks

Been thinking bout selling the 335 for a new 5.0 in Grabber Blue, these things are monsters with a few bolt ons...If I find one slighty used with the right options, I might be leaving the bimmer family soon

Thanks Ken! Haha yea true, and niqui too! Don't worry, it wont get slammed and i MIGHT put the glossy black oem competition package wheels on it or maybe some HRE P40s but it really depends on what deals I find on used sets and keep the other set for track.
