I do find its getting harder justifing to myself spending money on something that's constantly decreasing in value though. I suspect that if I was to add up all the receipts for money's spent over my 4 years of ownership it would be many thousands of pounds. I just don't want to upset myself by adding them all up

There's always something that needs or could do with being sorted. Mine could do with a wheel refurb, the drivers door needs repairing the missus over estimated her ability to get through a gap & a couple of weeks later the same door was hit by a shopping trolley & that was a couple of years ago! The bonnets covered in stone chips & needs a repaint & I would like to fit a charge pipe & some bovs.

Unfortunately I enjoy driving & when you do happen to come upon a nice bit of road & are able to have a bit of a special drive, the feeling my 335i gives me & the smile it puts upon my face is the reason I put up with it. I do find myself thinking more often nowadays that it must be nice to be one of those people that are indifferent to cars & happily drive around in something dull & cheap to run & have no interest in performance

That's me too...pee'd off at the expense but driving a 335i is fun and I love it and soon forget the expense. They are soooo good to drive and the spec on mine is quite high so pleasurable too

330i here purchased a few months ago, N53 60k miles, full dealer history.

Shadow fault codes for NOx sensor and Low pressure fuel sensor. Take it to a local BMW indy for replacement of said parts (£550 for both) but thread in NOx sensor gets damaged taking it out so whole central exhaust section has to be removed (including grinding off downpipe nuts due to rust) to go to engineering shop. All gets reassembled and garage call me to say both O2 sensors have gone . So there goes another £500. Arse.

If it wasn't such a nice car to drive, I'd be extremely pissed off by now.

Oh nice! We should set up an E9x road trip to Wales or something, beautiful roads around there i've heard I do sometimes regret getting the diesel due to lack of soundtrack when I put my foot down...maybe next time eh

I'm going for the Dunlop Sportmax RT2's all round

If be up for that - Ponderosa meet and drive round the EVO and up to Blackrock. You wouldn't want to do more than 6 cars though or the police get interested.

As for mine, £290 on LCI rear lights last month. Plus fuel.

$55k in mods??! What did you get done? What cars were going for $90k that you turned down to go for this? (Not criticising your choice, just curious)

Starter plus battery, a little over $800

Also did a flush on my power steering fluid. At this point all my fluids and filters are done.

Didn't intend to spend so much, just kind of added up over the past year or two.

Socket, I rember you posting the first few pics of your 335i when it' still looked like an SE. I thought it looked spot on after it had been lowered, nice & subtle. Now it's unrecognisable as being the same car, yes you certainly did get carried away.

If I had the money I'd love to:

Get a hybrid turbo, replace my MV4's with 313s, machine polish and seal the outside, upgrade my seats so they're ventilated and with a custom leather job, change the lights in the dash to blue, upgrade the idrive system, install wifi based cameras, front parking sensor installation, replace all bushes, get air suspension, get another remap done with a hybrid turbo in place, install a wireless charging pad for my phone and an entertainment system for the rear

Lol, just buy another car
My old e39 540i had rear TV screens, play station, DVD player & electric rear blinds. The guy that bought it new owned a car stereo shop. 4 years old when I got it 73k 1 owner £12k.
I have spent £1000 on mods for my 335i over my four years of ownership & have resisted all temptation to spend anymore, although I would like bovs & a charge pipe

Lol yeah exactly, plus there'd be no end to it all.

Got my eye on an M6 gran coupe some day. Maybe in 20 years time when I can afford it I'll be past the point of wanting to mod it
