Ok iv seen 12ft 15ft and 20ft. How much do we need to replace everything. Including the hard plastic that goes over engine. Iv had bad luck with bmw plastic.

Would it be smart to ziptie? I saw some heat resistant zipties at homedepot

Any pictures?

Might as well change the color to red lines so the hood has a different look

I just ordered 16 feet of Verocious Silicone Vacuum Hose, Platinum. Can't wait to change em out I currently have 125k and I replaced one of the vacuum pumps and noticed the line was completely dry rotted. Hoping that my wastegate rattle could be related. Although, i'm not getting any boost leak codes.

Just got my hoses in from Verocious Motorsports 16 feet of 3.5mm hose. First impressions is that this thing is thick no lie. I don't think these will dry rot as quick as the oem ones but we'l see. Here is a pic of the hose.

I will try to get this done tomorrow afterwork or possibly sunday.

So update, i was able to replace all the top ones, it was easy, i used a box cutter to cut the parts around the fitting and I recommend removing the vacuum canisters to make sure you don't break the nipples they are really fragile and easily able to break i know because i broke one of mine once.

I also noticed that maybe previous owner had already done a vacuum line replacement before can anyone confirm but does the OEM lines say AEM on them? they seemed to also be silicone and sturdy.

I couldn't get to the lines that connect to the wastegates but they didn't feel dry rotted to me or cracking. i could follow the front wastegate one all the way down w/ my hand but couldn't actually see it. I was afraid to pull on it and break something down there maybe this weekend i can take a look see if i can cut them with a better box cutter.

I did a search but came up empty. A DIY with photos would be perfect if one is out their somewhere.
I was able to grab the hose to the waste gates and pull straight up. They popped off no problem. They are more sturdy than the vacuum canisters. Of course results could vary, but I had to pull hard.

Like the RED

Looks good -- I went with the blue.
.
.
Did you replace the line common to the Blow-off valves and running back
under the air box / your CAI Filters?

I did not.
Just replaced everything to the left of the engine cover (including the ones to waste gate) and two lines behind the oil cooler.

Exactly. Mine says aem and looks like silicone. I was wondering if original hoses are silicone. Also, some are braided esp in the high heat areas. Perhaps they are better than silicone?

Honestly im impressed with bmw, since they didnt just use epdm hoses everywhere like most other car makers. Those dry rot very quickly.

Is this a one time thing? or should we replace our vacuum hoses often? are the factory ones rubber or silicone?

I've heard some guys say every 50k, others every 100k. I'm changing mine at 62k just as preventative maintenance and to liven up the engine bay a bit.
