Could someone tell me which was the earliest version of Progman 25 to fix the VR issue?
I wish I could go out to my car and find out myself which version was installed on my car, but apparently that isn't possible.

unless I'm completely out of the loop on this, there is NO version of Progman 25 that fixes the VR issue. On the contrary, it is the first and every subsequent version of Progman 25 that actually hoses VR in 2006 E90s. The reason you have Progman 25 and VR is that you pulled your CCC module out of your car and had BMWNA do that voodoo that they do on it. No one else, to my knowledge, has taken that route, and thus we all wait for the messiah of Progmans.

Since Progman 25 has come out, I have heard a lot of "solutions" ranging from "enabling codes" to newer updates (version 25.00.04, etc). As far as the "voodoo" that BMWNA performed, you are exactly correct. Whatever they did to my car fixed the problem, but they didn't tell the dealer what was done. All of my prior software updates clearly stated on the service receipt what version was installed. This time I am just left wondering. If the software is Microsoft based, I guess I say that my car has Progman 25 with SP2.

Fleet, did you see coolguy's post on E60.net where he posts a chart that correlates menu info to version info.

Hmm..not too sure that was the case for me. My July 2006 production seems to have pre-19.x (determined after reviewing upgrade posts since last year). I believe we were already in the 20.x come August 2006 (no?). Anyway, things have been stable for the last 8k mi, so I'll wait till 25.x stabilizes b4 jumping in.

I meant any version of 25 that we had seen thus far. If a new one is now out that actually works, then great. But I'm not holding my breath. Good luck.

Maybe the 25.1 s/w is being rolled out in a staggered fashion, since my SA said that there was no s/w update to fix the broken RTTI as of yet. All I know is that I'm getting very tired of waiting for a s/w fix!!!! This is b.s.!!!!

I got upgraded on Saturday, but I was not able to find out what version. I did provide SI B 61 03 05 so I am assuming they installed at least Progman 25.01.00.
VR is working now! RTTI - I now see traffic messages in the information screen, but my iDrive still does NOT show TI+ (only TI) in the display. I will check on Monday to see if all the icons and dynamic re-routing are working as they should be.

My SA told me confidently that they received a response from BMW to fix the RTTI issue and asked me to bring the car in today. He said they might want to keep the car for two days to update. I dropped the car in this morning.
He calls me now and says there is no problem and "No messages" is normal. I had a big argument with him but he sticks to his stand that the + missing after TI is normal and the system won't give me any messages if there are none (duh!). Anyway I asked him to compare with other cars in the lot and I haven't heard back yet. Anyway how do I prove that the problem still exists? I am planning to show google maps with traffic during rush hour. But I think they will counter that by saying its a different system. Anyway I wonder why BMW puts us through all this crap! Any suggestions on what I can do? |

The chart matrix (date, application, version level, comments) is something I put together for our E60/63 models and posted on E60.net. I have a similar chart for the E90, I just do not keep it as current as the E60/63 as no vested interest here. However, in the three upgrades I have had could not tell one whit within iDrive any coorelation to the actual Target data Status is was at. There may come a day but I do not think it is here yet for the CCC equipped models. Now for the M-ASK folks that may be a different matter.

What would be really useful - and I'm not suggesting this to give YOU any additional work - is if BMW were to document the features and improvements with various upgrades.

I went into that "diagnostics" screen and got the following:
SID_HIDDEN_VERSION=03-2007_I-510_20061031_1159; SID_CC_MESSAGE_999=03-2007_I-500_6_061113_061129_cor; Maybe someone (i.e. JSpira, E90Fleet, etc) could help determine to which version this corresponds.

I just got my V25.. install today. The tech wouldnt tell me the version code. There is no VR problems with mine. Everything seems to work great. I would say its 100% worth it to get this update just for the POI search. I like new map graphics and the RTTI finally does its job. Movement between screens and at startup is faster than before...i havent used nav in other cars so basis for comparision. They had to do the programming twice since the first one failed the DME modules(Not sure what this is). I havent seen any differences in the shifting of DS or manual modes so far. Overall I highly recommend this update. Also my only complaint when i went in was I drive is slow as per SB. I already had the pop arrows working on mine.
