Maybe I should test it to see if it's a fluke?

I'll bite - how do you look for cops on the turnpike?

The ohio turnpike and many others are very straight with long distances of site. They also have practically no places for a cruiser to hide. As long as you visually watch for the police turnaround section, keep an eye on the shoulder and drop your speed some through the rare bends in the road your good to go. Also pay attention to the cars ahead of you. If a group all hits their brakes in a certain area it can only mean 3 things, 1. their all stupid, 2. theirs something in the road, or 3. theirs a cop sitting there. At night some states have a law that the cruiser must keep their parking lights, which ohio has this law, so at night watch for lights sitting on the side of the road.
It's all relatively easy and as long as you are visual of the road ahead of you on the turnpike their is no reason you should ever get pulled over. When you stop paying attention is right when that cruiser will be sitting there.
