PS Hello Mob
Am quite sure!! You have a very light engine in your car in comparison, which is why you don't need as high tyre pressures

Hi MOB and welcome. I had the pleasure of being invited to test drive a Cayman S for a day and I agree entirely with your statement. The poise and balance were outstanding and you feel completely at one with the car. I had huge fun driving the nuts off it around the local Yorkshire countryside and could make very rapid progress indeed. Easier to live with than the 911, I felt and just as much fun. It's a proper sports car and designed to be driven as such and as car for the twisty stuff it's hard to beat.

(BTW, you'll soon learn that Carl has the fastest diesel in the universe and will take on all comers at the mecca of driving skill that is the 'Pod').

Hello MOB and welcome - Is that Carl arguing with someone else about who's car is faster, figure quoting as usual, threatening anyone with the pod - what a T**T - does he ever give over, he would argue that black is white. A Cayman S will rinse a standard 335D, but not a mapped one, in a straight line, show it some bends and its goodbye Mr 335D, even a tweeked one.

Anyway back on topic, I have non RFT's on my E91 and I am running 36 front and 38 rear, and it is a perfect set up, I have tried them higher and lower, and these pressures seem to work best. P-Nick ran his coupe on similar pressure too I believe.

Oli do you have a lack of vocabulary? Is that why you always resort to colourful language when talking about me.

How many miles has the car done? I always found tramlining increases at the tread wears down.

Welcome from me as well.

I agree - the best pressures on 19"s. But the OP is running on 18"s so needs to set slightly higher.

Oh, and agree 1000% about the Cayman S - on a back road, none of the 335s would see which way it went... as a two seat open-top car, the Boxter S I had for a while was the second best handling car I've owned (the first being an Elise). TBH, the 335 doesn't come anywhere near either of them in terms of handling

Hi MOB & welcome

You've joined in the season of goodwill to all men...LOL. Seriously though, most here do what we Brits. do best......informed discussions, with eloquent use of the english language.

For what it's worth, I would not attempt to 'take on' a Cayman S on the twisty stuff. Different cars for different purposes. Simple as.

I agree with consensus above. I have driven a Cayman S twice, its a very fast and well controlled car and it wouldnt concede defeat with a standard 335d. Although i do beleive the 335d would not face a humuliating showdown.

The 2 cars are very different in terms of purpose, design, engine etc

Welcome MOB, no doubt the porker S is the faster motor.

Carlos, stay brave against the abuse but taking mind warping drugs will get you sacked from work in addition to the above.

Oli your proving your the immature one. Threatening behaviour is what school boys do best. You just a big kid.

I can spell very well, but Im not writing a CV here (IM on a car forum) so I care not for spelling.

Grow up, STOP resorting to Foul mouthing me and being gernerally threating and abusive towards me. It is not BIG and it most CERTAINLY IS NOT CLEVER.

Carlos

Oooops.

Sorry to have started this.

I iced the fucking Cayman.

It was a straight line on a m/way.

Even though the guy was a muppet I am sure that he would have given me a problem in the twisties.

Olih - don't give Carl a hard time for my original post - I lef the guy for dead in a straight line and that is that.

I'm going to check the tyre pressures first see if that helps. If not I think I'll probably change all 4 tyres <gulp>

Fronts had 30psi in them, rears had 33psi

Upped them to 40 and 43 and we'll see how that goes

Yeah, it's really easy for runflats to get low on pressure without the driver noticing. On normal tyres you can see if they're getting soft, but runflats look the same fully inflated or flat. Need to get into the habit of checking them more often - I checked the wife's last week (MINI Cooper S with runflats) after 3 months and they were way down. The RFT monitor only alerts if it senses that one wheel changes dramatically compared to the others, and doesn't seem to notice if all the tyres go down slowly.

Our American cousins are slightly luckier, legislation there forces a pressure sensor in each tyre, so they can check tyre pressures from inside the car (I think).

i checked mine after a month and loads of miles! I had 16psi in one of the fronts, 20 and 28 in the back! I think mine are leaking, but no pressure warning came on.

Will check them before my next m-way trip again and see whats up.
