I'm starting to suspect the diverter valves having problems with higher boost (stock its fine?), but at this point its pure speculation. The forge units are en route however!

If I have to end up designing a true boost leak test "kit" I'll be sure to document it thoroughly, to the best of my knowledge no one else has had to do it and i'm sure someone else will have to do it after me.

I can appreciate the few beers and reluctance to test. Seems to detract my testing quite often.

In your second test of running through the gears, boost held strong in 4th. That is certainly perplexing compared to the previous tests.

As for a leak test, I suspect it will involved removing the stock airbox and creating a Y-Pipe. Might be something someone wants to go ahead and develop.

Might amend this to don't shut your keys in the trunk after disconnecting the battery

Nice picture btw...I need to find a nice wide open stretch like that around here
yeah there is, but I couldnt get it to work and had visions of breaking my key off in it. Thank god for the rear seat pass thru and the fold down seats.

That would be difficult, but not impossible, to get through the grill. But at a minimum, open up the airbox and take a peak.

sounds to me like the diverters are blowing open at speed..which is typical of the Bosch application.

Ive experienced problems in everything from 911 turbos to Eclipse AWD turbo models...any car that uses that BOV eventually will crack it or blow it open from the heat or from too much boost.....it will just press itself open when too much boost is applied..

exactly, its not consistant through the different gears on different runs. That is what is making me suspect the diverter valves, a boost leak is a leak and would be consistant, however a mechanical piece that opens and closes will be prone to sticking especially when being pushed past its design spec.

Y-pipe it will be, here comes Sniz motorsports.

I did a few pulls today and hit like 18psi... It was 72 degrees, its usually been around 37-45 degrees when ive been driving the car and not hitting over 13psi, now it warms up and the boost jumped consistantly... Anyone know why this happens? I need to lower my TQ settings now, ive been running 94%... I just dont understand why the outside temps affect the boost so much...

Two fold, not only are the initial intake temps cooler but the intercooler is being cooled by cooler air as well. Shiv said that the ECU lowers boost when the charge air is cooler (but power remains the same) so it makes sense if this is true. Though 5 psi seems a bit much, your other mods might aggravate it.

18psi is way too high. Drop user TQ values back down to the default 90% for the time being just to play it safe until we develop maps for a full catless set-up.

I will, at 94% when it was cold it never went above 13psi...
