Good luck!

I can't speak to the E92 v. the E90... hopefully someone can chime in.

Really sorry to hear that its such an PITA for the xi folks . . . having to disassemble half the car just to get one small clip off and on!!

Freeport? I'm assuming that it was at RPM racing? My friend use to bring all of his cars there... that is a really good shop. The techs and the owner are really cool people to work with.

BMW Dealer want $200 per hr to install the SSK. They said it'll take ~1.5 hrs. Ouch! Any xi owners, can you provide info on installing the SSK?

Thanks!

I called up rudtners racing and they told me $190.00 to install it. Should take about 2 hours. So its $95.00 per hour. better than BMW charging $200.00 per hour

Okay, I'm tired of waiting...

I'm gonna install the SSK on my 330xi next week.
I'll post info for all the xi owners who are interested in the install.

I am feeling the same way, but I still need to order the SSK so you will probably get to yours before I get to mine. I am hoping that once all the top pieces are removed it may be more obvious what needs to be removed down below to get to the clip. I am thinking it is the exhaust and heatshield. If they are quoting 2 hours to install this it would seem there is no way they are removing the center differential to access the clip.

I will keep following this thread until someone posts the solution or I figure it out myself. Good luck.

I got my ssk kit from Tisher bmw. Cost was $183.00 with no shipping or tax. Here in Long Island the dealer wouldnt go down even $1.00 even thought I showed him what Tisher was charging. If I bought it here in long island it would of been $229.00 plus $20.00 for tax. Total $249.00. Instead I paid $183.00. Now Im just waiting to get my car delivered next week and then Sat to get the ssk installed.

If I had an XI I WOULD figure a way to install this - I couldn't see paying as much or MORE for the install than the parts costs! Again, good luck!

I ordered mine on the 27th, and it was shipped out on the 28th. Call or AIM Tischer as you should have gotten a confirmation email by now.

I know the feeling about talking to them online. On friday I tried getting in touch with them. When they couldnt locate my order after giving them information they logged off on me. So I IM's them again. Same thing happened...they just logged off probably cause it was to much work for them. However less then 5 min's later UPS delivered the package to me.
