Just a note on your writeup...I can easily chirp my tires going into third with my bone stock car (DTC mode). However, maybe you have wider tires than my stock 255's on your 19"ers, making it more of a feat now.
Well I am not "trying" to chirp . Your 6mt will love the flash.

They were desinged and are used to quantify the performance enhancements of modifications to a car. Specifically, they are most useful in quantifying the changes associated with a single modification in a given car. To do this, runs should be made before and after a given modification, and with identical or nearly identical ambient conditions.

Dynos were not meant to compare different mods on different cars, and while using them as such is somewhat fun and interesting, it is not very informative, objective, or all that meaningful.
Completely agree. Unfortunately, the vast majority of ricers on this forum and others use dynos as a penis enlargement tool. They just like having that piece of paper that they can show all their friends and boast how fast their car is, even though they never take the car to a track.

I don't know about the vast majority. This comment may be true for other forums but I don't believe it's true on this one. This may be true for some, but not most. Maybe you should hang around here a bit longer before you make comments like that.

People like myself like to dyno on the same dyno for reasons that has been stated above; that is to see how much power increase that the mod has given.
Also, it's beneficial for comparisons between products when the tests are done with the same car on the same dyno.

Any Downside?

The stock 355I, while powerful, is pretty docile in traffic.
Does the Dinan upgrade make the car overly tempremental?
Is the day to day drivability adversely effected?

CA

Day to day is NOT affected at all. I find with the flash it is actually LESS jumpy than stock. It seems like this is how the car was supposed to drive!

I kind of feel the same way about people who list their current and past cars... Just kidding with you.

I agree that day-to-day driving has been improved. I feel shifting has become easier, however I have also become more familiar with the car. I love the smooth torque, it just pulls and pulls without any jerkiness.

It has been a seriously enlightening experience driving the 06 SMG, 07 JB2R 335i, and the stock 08 335i. The piggyback changes your whole opinion of the car. The M3 felt so much faster and more responsive than the stock 08 335i. And yet I had given up driving my M3 for months now, because the JB2 07 335i is so much faster. Its all relative I guess. But for those of you with stock 335i BMWs, you have no idea what you are missing.

Shadyg,

How is the car running after a few days with the new software? You still as impressed as the day you got it? Also, have you ever installed any piggybacks before this upgrade?

How is reliability and MPG?

Sorry for all the question but I am about to drop 2K on this next wednesday.

Yes I am still very impressed with the smooth delivery of power. I held off on any upgrade that would in anyway potentially (however slight) void my warranty. No limp mode or CELs and I've driven the heck out of it (700+ miles since the flash). MPG dropped about 1 mpg on the highway. No heat issues either. Enjoy it, your only regret will be waiting so long!

I would love to hear from someone who has either the Dinan or V2 on their car and who gets a chance to drive the other tune in a similiarly modded car. Even a few runs against each other would help me out so much more then a dyno. Just a matter of time.

I agree, there has to be someone out there that has gone from Proceed or at least SSTT to the Dinan.

would you like to spend about 5000 Dinan with the oil cooler or 2000 for the reflash ecm with the oil cooler? Personally i would not
