January '08 Production Thread

Mine came out of production on 1/10 and is now on its way to the port of exit. Thats all the 800# said.
How do you determine which the port of exit is and what ship it will be on and when it will leave?
Although I'm in CO I'm getting the car from a SoCal dealer so what will be port of entry into the US?

Ordered 328i on 12/31. Not sure when production started, but it is currently in the paint shop, with a scheduled completion on 1/14 (wait that is today!).

Called the 800 number and was told that the car is finished with production and is waiting for shipment. Initial order was on 1/3 so it only took ~10 days!

Ordered my E90 328 on 12/30/07.

Owner's Circle showed "Scheduled for Production" as of 1/12/08.

Just called the 1-800 # and was told production completion date is set for 1/18/08.

Hoping to receive the car by early March!!!

Barbera Red 335xi Coupe. Ordered 12-5. Was already allotted. Just had to be configured for me. MT. Premium. Cold Weather. Easy build.
Is presently on the Tarifa, due in Panama on 1-16 and in San Diego 1-26. Reno just a few days later!

My dealer didn't black out any numbers and I got a really scary response from the 800 number. Apparently when they place the order, BMW manufacturing may issue a recycled production number. Thats what I got. the automated lady said she couldn't find my car and the customer service agent said "well this is weird" after I gave him the number. My partial VIN works just fine though. I think this happens when they alter a vehicle already scheduled for production and don't start your car literally from scratch.

West coast sales usually do go through the Panama Canal by the way, but it's not the same shipping line. It's in the Ultimate Tracking thread.

AWD Addict...where did you buy? I used Wagner BMW in Shrewsbury. Ordered 12/17, so it took a month just for production. They told me 6-8 weeks so I guess it's still possible that it's on schedule.

I'm waiting for a boat. Looks like Patriot or Liberty. The Courage was scheduled right after those, but with the whole smashed cars thing, I doubt it'll be back in time to pick mine up. Here's hoping for the Liberty!

Proabably going on Liberty or Courage. But, considering you're car was ordered a decade ago, I'm not sure the condition its going to be in.

Managed to get the CA to fork over my VIN/Production number - whee.

Went into production this morning, scheduled for 1/22 assembly - double whee.

What about the "Emden" leaving on the 22nd. It is from the K-Line and not the M&M Line. My car was completed yesterday, and I am hoping for the "Emden". After that we have to wait until the 29th. That would be rough.

PS. Looks like we are fairly close in proximity (I'm near Macon)

hey, our cars probably saw each other this morning, mine was also completed today.

i can't check the status though, the phone system appears to be down for maintenance at the moment.

As of today, Vehicle is scheduled for production with no scheduled production date. Just like it has been for the last month!!! Well I will be calling my dealer shortly and telling him I will be canceling my order if it does not go into production next week. I was told from someone on the forums they know a dealer who might be able to put me in a slot that is scheduled for production on Jan 28th, so if I can get that say goodbye to my dealer. At least then I have a scheduled date!!

Sorry Uberdude...that is the second time I have put a wrong date in and didn't catch it...should hv been 12-29-07 lol...that would be a slow boat from China..........ha...today ph call said coming out of production today
