Under the circumstances I think you will need to scrap the car.

It's like when the oil change went wrong only MUCH MUCH worse.

Once you have hit a pothole the entire car should be junked.

Rang my local council and put a claim in. Took photos of the pothole and i kept the damaged alloy wheel and tyre as evidence. Sent in my claim form saying it was there bloody fault with the photos and explained it was the main route into the city centre and that it was also very dangerous.

About 3 months later got a cheque for the full amount.

I've still got the buckled alloy wheel which actually looks mint . Do you think its worth any money on flea bay ?
Right its buckled. Shall i ring or send a letter?

Carrier Pigeon

Or maybe he could write his message in green pen, fold up the paper into an elaborate paper glider and attempt to throw it through an open window at Essex town hall.

At the risk of being boring and getting back on topic how did you find out it was buckled. Did you go to the dealer or tyre fitter? and is it the new rim from the kerb incident or one of the originals.

The council. I would not bother with the carrier pigeon but phone and ask to speak to someone about highways and maintenance. When you get throught to the right department explain your problem and ask how you go about claiming damage to your car wheel / suspension, etc.

New tyre / wheel is going to be the best part of £600 for the council not the usual £150 alloy and tyre so I guess they may be a bit more investigating into this claim so have all your facts ready before you call.

Do not get into conversation on the DXB 310.4bhp rolling road or 13.x seconds 1/4 mile at the pod or what might be the right remap even if they are car enthusiasts you speak to - but you can chat up the secretary if she is hot.

Should Carlos use a mobile phone or a land line ?

Should he use his real name or identify himself only as Carlos Fandango ?

Should he speak in his normal voice or adopt a comedy accent ?

Should he pretend to be Terry Tibbs ?

This should be made a poll.

Strangely, I just knew you were going to say that, NFS.

1 Neither- I think he should buy a bulk pack of Star Trek communicator-look-alike walkie-talkies, pass them around & use them until someone he talks to agrees to ring on his behalf, as Captain Kirk.

2 Neither- he should start calling himself 'Mutley', for no particular reason whatsoever, & be proud of it- far more 'fashionable' than 'Carlos'.

3 Neither- he should always insist other people speak on his behalf- I'm quite willing to take on that role.

4 No- Terry Tibbs knows what he wants & acts accordingly.
