It looks like it will dock in Georgia tomorrow. All these plots are at 6 am.

Very cool. Thanks for posting.
Tracking our vessels helps cut the pain of the LONG wait. At least there is a fun aspect to it. |

Here's an updated AIS shot. She's gone off the radar. I suspect she's in the port of Brunswick now. I am thinking that it is that little clump of cars above the port of Jacksonville just above the label for ship "Cathleen Moran." I tried to zoom in on that port, but when I click on that area it takes me to a screen shot of the entire Gulf of Mexico.
These AIS radar shots are updated approx every hour, so from one screen shot to another, there can be big changes. |

Thanks for posting.
I wonder if she is waiting for her turn to come into the port. |

The yellow arrow means their engines are still on (and/or moving less than 5 knots). Red arrow means their engines are off. Green means they are moving over 5 knots.
I don't know how much she has to unload, so her engines may or may not be turned off. Sometimes they sit for a long time with their engines on. We'll have to wait and see. |

demosthenes-She's still sitting in port and has a yellow arrow (she's one of the yellow arrows in the very bottom left corner), so her engines are still running. Hopefully she won't stay too long in port. Although, we probably won't see any change until we find that she's gone in the morning. Then we will have to wait until she reaches the Panama Canal. I don't know how long it takes for them to travel from Brunswick to Panama. I have never tracked a ship on that route. Is there a way to guess using the Google Earth that you plotted from the English Channel?

According to this schedule from WWL, the AIDA is going to spend the night in Georgia and take 3 days to get to the Panama Canal.

Wow - thanks a lot for the updates spn/demosthenes: You guys are really on it and about as current as you can be.
Found the arrival schedule for port Hueneme, showing the Aida due on the 27th: http://www.portofhueneme.org/documen...0215084031.pdf not sure how current it is though. Last edited by Aaric; 02-15-2008 at 10:08 PM.. |

Thanks Aaric. It's good to see that it's scheduled to arrive in California on the 27th. It was originally scheduled for the 23rd.
The AIDA has left Brunswick and it is headed for Panama! Here's the latest schedule from WWL. It's fun sharing this stuff with fellow enthusiasts. Thanks guys. ![]() |
