I can only guess that it's due to the type of adhesive on the vinyl, which is likely to be more "sticky" that the film? If you were to take a normal sticker, like you'd get for a children's book, and slap it on the dot matrix, I can't imagine it would have any adhesion problems. I suspect the vinyl is closer to that type of adhesive.

That's only a guess, but the thread on the US part of the site seems to suggest that this method stands the test of time.

The vinyl is simply more pliable and softer than the tint film so it will mould around the dot matrix where the film will not.

my 320d lci has got the button-operated sun shades but i also want to have the windows tinted is this possible?

Shouldn't be an issue as the shade sits away from the screen and folds down out the way.
