A LOT better than the actual concept...not perfect but so much more cohesive already.

Nice work Mr M235i exactly how it should have been done.

What the hell were BMW thinking!! That front end! The bumper being eaten buy the hood, the grilles and that front splitter.

That 5 minute surgery is what it should've looked like. Now that looks great. Have you applied at BMW yet? lol.

Jalopnik was saying the car looks even worse in person...If that's even possible.

Yikes, the bulging structures that tuck into the hood are hideous to say the least

This design does not fairly represent one of, if not my favorite BMWs, the e9.

A catharsis for the eyes really. Take me back to these days. Wilhelm Hoffmeister on line 1.

I like the oversized grill quite a bit. Way to be bold and show off one of BMW's signature design elements. But the fenders folded over into the hood and the rear fenders extending into the spoiler is sloppy and over-designed.

Good design is subtle. This is not it.

Thumbs down Tonka Toy

I was really expecting this design exercise to be something special but this looks more like a back yard 'lets throw foam and bondo onto the car and see what happens!'. The Top Gear team would have had a field day with this. Photographs are good though

The side profile doesn't look to bad, but once you start to see how the front fenders meet the hood and the grill it's horrible. The helmet idea is cool but I don't like how they are setup inside the car.

I'd buy an M2 in this color even with blue stitching.

I guessed correctly, right? M2 Anniversary with carbon everything and design hints of a 2002?

God, I hope the future BMW looks nothing like this abortion. What's weird is that there are some lines that are so stunning, and then there is that front end that looks like a time travel disaster gone wrong --- the front looks nothing like like the car you all intend to homage. How much photoshop are we looking at in all these photos, by the way?

This to me is a electric piss abomination --- I am looking hard but there is very little in this car that reflects the DNA of any future car I want to buy... and I've owned 3 or 5 series BMWs in every iteration since the E30.

What really bothers me is a fan can post a rather tame render of a possible M4 CSL (http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1125882) and you call it "absolutely awful," yet you think this thing is absolutely perfect?

BMW already has the vision design concept for the M2 -- you could have rolled something like that out today to wide spread accolade. When I see things like this, I wonder what exactly is the vector for the marque. The future of the BMW design, and the M division really scares me -- and I am a dyed in the wool BMW fanboy.

Sorry for the vent, maybe some aspects will grow on me, but I expected to see so much more -- and damn do I hate that front end!

too many people here who have absolutly no fucking clue what is design. this hommage is perfect and takes car design in the next level. The lines are very dynamic imo, love that line coming from the fender and goes into the hood. i would exchange my M3 CSL to this if i had the chance.

There is a lot to like here overall but I also really really dislike the oversized central grill. Audi and Lexus have already ruined their front ends. Why must BMWs copy an awful trend - the gaping fish mouth grill or GFMG for short.

Knock the bottom half off the grills and it will look way better.
