Don't worry- they just pass along the extra costs involved to the customer.

I was think thing the same thing. Do you think it adds aerodynamic drag?

Maybe this explains why BMW's published 0 to 60 times are understated.

This seems like a marketing tactic. Make people speculate before it's released. How many threads do we see relating to these masked camo cars? Many. It's similar to what Apple does with there "accidental" prototypes released into public. Just my opinion, could be wrong though.

Every prototype you see will eventually be crushed and that includes first units of production models, every vehicle you see in photographs or videos testing no matter if camouflaged or camouflage free shares the same fate.

I would hope there is some recycling of metal or materials? Or is elimination priority?

I don't understand why people are all worried about what the camo does to performance. There are dozens of stages of testing an this may have nothing to do with performance. They could be testing stuff which the panels have zero effect.

Pretty sure BMW is smart enouht to know what affects this will have on the car

Yawn. Didn't find the vehicle or the video very interesting so much so that I was more fascinated these "techs" were working without safety glasses.
