I think these do without the led indicators but they look like the official bmw shadowline rear lights. They also look more like the new 5 series in terms of light bar design. They look good though and they are a good price! Difficult one... |

Got my car back from the garage to sort the airbag and seat belt warning lights. Ended up that one of the modules needed replaced under the console.
Luckily the dealer I bought the car off agreed to pay for it. Just as well as it ran to 700 quid! I would definitely use the garage again. They gave the car a full health check and offered to wash it and clean it out while I waited. They also took me round the car to point out two minor things to me. It's great to have the car back and I've now fitted my private plates to it! Last edited by Frasers_330d; 09-19-2015 at 02:15 AM.. |

Got a new set of numberplate led modules that replace the bmw festoon holders as I wasn't impressed with the brightness of the led festoon bulbs i bought.
They were only a tenner off ebay and they are really bright and error free. Definitely a good cheap mod. i'll try and get up pictures to show the difference. Also bought a new headlight cover as someone had managed to break off the tabs on the old ones and the moisture was getting in. But im still loving the car. Thinking about a remap now and i've seen that I can get it from 230bhp to 300bhp. Not sure about it though as I've got a manual and i'm not sure if the gearbox can take it! |

Some bad news on the car. ... as I'm only doing short stop start journeys the dpf filter light came on and it's now in the garage. Luckily I have a warranty wise warranty which has covered most of the cost but it's still a pain. The garage said that the filter isn't too badly blocked so they think they can clean it but it was coming up with glow plug errors so they are replacing all 6 along with the module. Supposedly as these were faulty it was stopping the car doing a regen of the filter..
To add to the problems the garage said that one of the glow plugs they are replacing is seized in the head so it will need to be drilled and tapped out! So I've now been given a mini cooper s until Monday! Quite like it tbh, it's been remapped to over 200 bhp and handles like a go kart compared to my heavier 330d. Definitely feel the difference in build quality though as it has loads of rattles etc and it's done less mileage than my bm. Hopefully I get my car back soon! Cheers Fraser |

Bit of an update. The dpf light only went out for a short time so I checked the engine temps and it seemed as though one of the thermostats are done. So I bought a egr thermostat from ecp and fitted it last night.
Only problem was that it was a circoli one and the water started gushing out the housing after a drive. Plus it didn't make any difference to the engine temp. So it looks like the main thermostat is at fault as the car is only getting to 67c on a drive but got to over 80c idling in the garage with no airflow through the radiator. So I'm going to book it in to get the main thermostat changed under warranty as I didn't fancy taking the engine to bits and draining the coolant to fit the main one. I'll let you know what happens! |
