Tonight was a great reason why the people who say this series is getting long in the tooth need to kindly stfu. This was one of the best episodes they'd ever had. I was sure something bad was going to happen to my favorite character (Carol), and I kept yelling at the TV for her to take off that damned Wolves disguise before she got friendly fired haha. Speaking of Carol, it looks like her little old lady guise is finally blown in the Community. Good grief what a badass haha.
Carl on the other hand, wtf. Couldn't he have at least gone up stairs and took potshots through a window at the Wolves running around all over the place? FFS! |

What was cool about this last episode was that it's really Carol -- and not Rick -- who is the antithesis of Morgan. This was made clear when Carol and Morgan crossed paths at the end in opposite directions without even acknowledging one another. All in all, a well done episode.

Hmm. What happened to the congresswoman, Carl's girl, the armory lady with the 45?
And just wondering, if you're going to take your best combatants out to lead a horde of zombies away like the pied piper, wouldn't it make sense to arm the people left behind just in vase things don't work out? Just saying. |

I'm just sick of people being little bitches. Rick and Carol are right, these people need to get trained and stop being assholes about it. Girl guarding the armoury doesn't know how to fire a gun??? WTF is useless doing there then...go plant some crops.
I get it, try not to lose your humanity and become the thing you're trying to protect your family and friends from...but come on.

so - on a deeper level of how I see this episode (and I am likely overthinking...)
While people look to Rick as the 'leader' - Carol is one of the true powers behind the throne (Think Don Cheney in the W administration). When the 5hit hits the fan - you need Carol in your bunker to make the choices that others are simply not capable to bring themselves to do. She can operate under the radar (as demonstrated many times in the show plot lines). Morgan is holding onto humanity, and trying to be the light in the dark for others to follow. Leading by example because all life is not the most precious commodity on earth. The exchange at the end with Morgan and Carol personifies the dynamic of where they fall as the moral compass of Rick, and their struggle to dominate this position. |

I disagree with many of you here. I felt this episode had so little substance. Just humans killing humans... It was getting lame already with episodes after episodes of:
Group of humans staying safe killing zombies meeting other group of humans killing zombies figuring out this new group of humans are evil killing the new group of humans keeping a few of them staying safe killing zombies exploring area killing zombies meeting a new group of humans joining them staying safe killing zombies realizing this new group is evil killing most, keeping some. Exploring Killing zombies staying safe ... after season 2 they should have stopped. Will there ever be an end to all this? |

Guys, this was an incredible episode. If you don't get it, then you're not a true fan of the show.

Also, some interesting questions from the episode:
1) What's the significance of the red "A" that Carol saw on the porch? Are the Wolves related to the folks at Terminus? 2) How did the Wolves get in Alexandria? Or more precisely, WHO let the Wolves into Alexandria? The girl (Enid)? Is she working for the Wolves (perhaps against her will, which is why she needs to keep reminding herself to "JSS" or "Just Survive Somehow")? |

I totally think Enid was helping the Wolves. Also, Aaron realizes that he as much to blame since he left his backpack behind and it helped them with intel on the Safe Zone.

2. That's a good theory, especially since when she was talking with Carl in the house she gave that whole "they're just people" speech. I thought that was incredibly odd at the time. If it follows the comic, the Wolves are the Scavengers (though there were only six Scavengers, so even that doesn't match the Wolves) who aren't part of the Terminus gang. Completely different crews. The shootout with the Scavengers however, did lead to a massive herd coming to Alexandria in the comics, which might be what is in store for the TV show now (truck horn). |

That was an epic episode 2.
The brutality was effective as a contrast to their tranquil lives. The mom? That was nuts. Enid and the keys? Suspicious. The casserole ready at the end? Tight writing. Last edited by imserious; 10-20-2015 at 01:58 AM.. |

Enid is definitely involved. She said something about 'we' when she was talking to Carl, and it wasn't in reference to her/Carl or the other people of Alexandria, but Carl cuts her off before she finishes. We know she climbs the walls in and out of Alexandria on the regular. Maybe voluntarily, maybe not, but my money says she climbed the walls and opened the gate for the Wolves.

And what did we learn about smoking in the apocalypse, kids? It's much more deadly than in normal life. . .
The walls are braced on both sides, right? I kept losing perspective on which side I was on during the show. Did the truck hit the outside wall, or were they driving around inside Alexandria? The Wolves were just plain BRUTAL. People were dead, but they just kept hacking off arms and legs. Dinner? |
