Hoping to get some insights

My 2011 has 88K miles - fairly great car IMHO.

The SES light is on. Indep dealer says a Exhaust temp gauge and or something else.

It wont pass INPSection as it has the SES light.

If I am following what you are saying, I can buypass all the crap? Will that resolve the SES light and allow me to pass Inspection?

The ERG sensors were estimated at 1200 (not counting labor).

I live in NY if anyone has a recommendation for service.

I'm probably not the best one to answer this as NC doesn't have emission laws for diesels, but I don't think you will pass if you remove all of the "crap". Maybe someone with a little more knowledge can chime in, but this is my understanding.

There is also Pros-Tuning in Riviera Beach (used to be Japtrix)
Another friend recently had some work done to his car and they were fair on labor and did good work.
Thanks bro Ill check those places out and report back in case anyones interested!

As scheduled, I took my 2010 335d into BPC last week and had the following done: CBU cleaning, Bohl dp install, EGR block plates install, Forge charge pipe install and tune. They also found and fixed an oil leak on one of the turbos. I just got the dyno graph and my car is at 315 hp / 483 ft/lbs of torque (chart attached). I pick the car up on Friday afternoon and I am stoked. I will update here once I have had the chance to drive it.

I saw your car in there yesterday afternoon, she looked lonely sitting on the lift wanting to be driven hard. I bet you can't wait.

I am a simple man - a simple littleoldman who loves torque...I just want the car to pass inspection. If I need a DP or a Alphabelt delete or whatever...I want to remedy this without going to the "Stealership".

Suggestions?

The code faults I got were:
P2457
P205C

Car has 88K miles, is a very good car, 88K miles. Was once in the dealership for 3 weeks. They claimed to provide an entirely new TOP end of the motor. But I dont trust they did what they said. I asked them for a new warranty - they denied my request.

I just called BPC and said "Let's do it". I provided the hardware and they took care of the rest. Based on the results shown on the dyno graph, my guess is that it is similar to the Stage 2 with deletes offered in the great white north.

WOW. The car pulls like crazy. 40 to 80 from on-ramp into interstate traffic was effortless, more so than before. The car is truly a beast now. Also, as I replaced the charge pipe and the guys at BPC resolved a boost leak, mpg home from Raleigh was 37.9 (from on-board computer). The trip up I only got 32.3. Removed the alphabet issues, increased power and improved mpg - I am very pleased.

This makes me happy! I'm sure I have some CBU now at 60K. I'm driving the car daily to work 25mi each way and getting 32mpg (mostly highway). I'm going to put the car in the garage and do a CBU cleaning on it and see if I can get back to 37 where I was about 6 months back. Then I'll follow it up with a tune and DP and exhaust (in Feb/Mar when they're delivered).

GaryE30, I am thinking that my mpg increase could well have been a combination of the need of cleaning and the boost leak. Regardless, I had never recorded a mpg on the car's computer of over 34 on long highway trips. The 38 I saw when pulling into driveway made me happy. I would expect that my daily commute mpg, which now averages about 29.5 to 30 should also improve a bit - I will let you know.

Yeah, I do all my mpg calculations from actuals not car computer instantaneous or average estimates anyway. I too have a boost leak at my charge hose from the compressor outlet. I am certain that is also contributing.

My car had the CBU service and new intake manifold installed right around 100k by the previous owner, on the highway doing 75mph I was getting 39.5mpg via the car computer

Maybe I got lucky with the car, ha. City driving is right at 27-28mpg

I also hand calculate at each fill up. I will be confirming what the car's computer is telling me.

First full tank of normal driving was hand calculated at 36.83. Granted, that was 90% highway due to the holidays, but I had never recorded over 34 on road trips before the delete tune.

Really happy with mpg improvement and power gain.

Now the question of the day - to do LSD or not?

Anyone want to sell their cat if they've done the alphabet delete? Closer to Connecticut would be good.

Next update: It needs the SCR cat. My SA and dealership are talking with BMW. In the mean time I better gird my loins and start looking for a used SCR cat in case BMW opts to not cover it.
