Once Nissan/Infiniti brings the twin turbo Q50/60 I think it would be under 50k. Nice looking car that will be the next wave of JDM fans looking for a platform to mod.

No. Sports sedan or coupe, but not dedicated sports car. It's not built for just driving. It's practical. M1, i8, 850, yes. Rest, not really. I'm hoping they make that csl prototype. That would be a sports car. The m4 gts, no.

Can you name a japanese sports car/sedan ($35k-$50k) you will buy?
The only sports car you listed there was the S2000. The rest do not fit the definition of a sports car.

Miata is the only one I think I'd buy, handles great, a hoot to drive, reliable chick car.....so I don't think I'd actually buy one.

Sports coupe. Has back seats correct?

I still have an RX-7. It's my 3rd FD3S. They don't make them like that anymore. Light weight, good power, great steering feel, 50/50 balanced and exotic car looks. Time stood still, design still looks current 25 years later.

I always liked that variant of the RX7, a great car all round. I wouldn't mind getting one some day, lots of mods for them too.

Nice, is that a real R1/R2? My dad has a '93. Fun story, parking a rotary on a hill and leaving it in gear apparently doesn't cause compression lock like a piston engine. I was able to catch it, unlock the door (after remembering where the damned handle is) and pull the e brake in time. Still got my heart rate up.

Balance was actually more favorable, like 45/55, since rear bias is actually better, just see 911's.

In the minds of most car enthusiasts, sports cars are cars that were designed from the ground up to be performance cars. Performance cars that are derived from pedestrian versions are considered sports sedans/coupes/compacts. It's really not a clearly defined classification though.

See above, not to mention your car got dusted around the Nurburgring by 15 seconds by the "japanese rice." Yikes

I lean that way too with 240, prelude, etc. S2000 yes. For me 300zz tt was, supra was, rx7tt was. Why? Because they were designed from inception to do performance before function. They had enough doors. Their hp was very high as was their handling vs cars of the day. Civic. No. It's a souped up basic driver. 3 series? No. M4 gts is a soup up 428. A sports coupe. Caddie ctsv coupe? No. Same thing. A sports car doesn't have lamer more functional underpowered models. They're stand alones. One offs. Corvette. Viper, f type jag, 911, etc. Even the most lame N/A 911 is still a beast vs. other cars made the same year.

Outside of that, the Z as mentioned and thats about it....
While I agree with most of what you said the car doesn't need acceleration/top speed numbers from the early 90s either though I mean sheesh, aside from miata anything sub 250 is garbage in 2016.

Sexy. Speaking of the FD, what do V8 swapped FDs sell for these days? I'm not talking hack jobs.

They need to bring that or the MS6 back, though. 400+ HP AWD or RWD with looks that kill & not stupid priced like the RS. I might consider selling my Speed6 at that point.

Supposed to be coming with the CX9 motor and possibly awd. MS3 is supposed to have more juice and awd. 6 likely not to be as expensive or labeled as MazdaSpeed, but the MS3 will likely be RS money.
