I have a 2008 non-idrive 335i. All I want is the autofold mirrors when locking. Is there an easy, step by step way to do this without bricking my car?

I am wondering how to set software for a certain com parameter. My laptop has 4 USB ports and I am not sure if I cannot connect because of which one I am using. I know USB shouldn't matter but just curious. I am just trying to test a good OBD2 cable I already have that I got for my Toyota Tundra. It works great with the Techstream dealer software.

Yes its in German but the guides should be enough
to get you through. And a lot of the words are close to the English equivalent. The steps to code aren't that difficult. It is a good idea to understand the difference between. Coding , programming and updating. Coding = change setting in and individual module. programming = adding or replacing a module in the car and adding it to the master list called the VO which is stored in the CAS and FRM. Updating = updating the firmware in a particular module in the car with winkfp. or updating the whole car with Ista P . VO or default programing = getting the values stored in the VO to load in to a specified module rather than from a stored file.(Man file) Last edited by ctuna; 01-29-2019 at 05:05 PM.. |

Yep I am thankful that there are loads of videos showing the steps. What use would programming a module have? Would I be able to add alarm functions if my vehicle is not alarm equipped? Basically if I just wanted the chirp for lock and unlock.

A BMW alarm requires the alarm hardware and wiring.
Then it requires the coding to tell the car it's installed and the setting up of what variables are possible. There is a list of standard things you can do usually be by just turning stuff from nicht acktiv to acktiv. https://www.e90post.com/forums/attac...6&d=1487375332 The one I like is windows up with keyfob pretty useful . I'm new to the coding so apology in advance if it was already asked. I haven't found a solution on any other threads.
Anyone can give an advice what I am doing wrong to connect to obd? I have all the tools installed on a Windows10 laptop with K+DCAN cable with COM1. There is a led on obd connector of the cable that turn off after a minute or two even though ignition is on. INPA shows both dots on - battery and ignition confirming the connection is made. Problem is that FStool, FSC, Ncsexpert, etc, none of them able to connect. All tools load up without any error... its just they wont connect. What am I missing? |
