Heather - yes, SCR still in place. Waiting for iaknown (Dave) 's solution. Hopefully in the next month or so. DDE is on the kitchen table until the GF is done with the car for the day. Meanwhile I'm sleuthing a huge vacuum leak on the Samurai and hoping to go fishing.

Can't think of a better apples to apples comparison than in the same vehicle. I'll be looking forward to your feedack. Curious what tools do you have to make the comparison? Any data logs would be really appreciated. Thanks. |

TDIwyse and I can both recommend PerfExpert. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...rfexpert&hl=en I also like Dynomaster by Trackaroo https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...oid.Dynomaster You can contact me if you would like help setting it up. I don't see us getting another opportunity like this anytime soon. No pressure, just making an offer, if you are interested. Last edited by DWR; 02-13-2016 at 09:50 PM.. |

You can determine the drag loss by running the acceleration test in reverse. That's kind of fun to see what the tires add over the wind resistance. But honestly, just looking for a way to do apples to apples comparisons, so I keep it simple and consistent. |

I first learned how to do this with a GTech. It used on board accelerometers and even though it was not as convenient as a phone, I think it had more flexibility. BTW, in a manual car, you can leave it in gear with the clutch in and capture more of the drivetrain loss. |

Sorry, I have nothing useful to contribute on that subject. I'm just interested in it as a tuning tool and look for relative differences, not absolute accuracy.

Just ordered all the components for my 2nd WI system for my project. I hope to have everything installed soon and get a few dyno numbers. I hope to do a SCR delete comparison dyno, dual nozzle WI setup dyno comparison and an additional comparison with the 2nd WI system.
1st set up is progressively controlled and consist of 2 nozzles. A 1gph and a 10gph. This system taps into the stock washer tank and will use -20* washer with max of 20% methanol. 2nd system consist of 6x 2gph nozzles and is also progressively controlled (separate controllers). I'm planning on using the DEF tank for the storage tank but not 100% certain yet. This system will utilize 49-65% methanol. 4 gallons of boost juice is ordered and en-route! I hope to pick up considerable power with both systems in use but, time will tell. I opted to use this controller as it's reasonably priced and I'm very impressed with their quality over the named brand controllers. http://www.hpcontrols.ca/media/files...Controller.pdf In addition, I'm looking to do a few additional air box/cleaner dyno pulls along with a open filter comparison. Hopefully it will shed a little light on the air flow/power discussion. Last edited by 335dsleeper; 02-15-2016 at 07:06 PM.. |
